Heya, have you tried the Component inputs? I haven't really seen any of other videos showcasing the ODV as a standalone Analog-to-Digital Converter for consoles apart from yours. And from most, they always use 480i and not 480p, and some even use an OSSC for extended compatibility; I wanna know if you have encountered any problems using the ODV alone? I plan on buying this when I noticed my cheap-o Component to HDMI converter brightens and fuzzies up the output too much when I was playing my Wii.

Excellent question! I'm actually annoyed I didn't think of covering it! I have used the component for the PSP TV cable, and it worked with no issues or delays. I'll need to have more of a look.

Retro tink is always sold out. Also, it's so expensive, it's cheaper to get a decent quality x2 upscaler for all of your retro consoles than it is to buy one retro tink.

It's occasional, but since turning on the setting suggested in the previous comment, it has improved drastically 👍🏻

@Fnatic2010 when using the controller, it's in the settings as something like "frame lock". It still tears from time to time, but nowhere near as bad as it was.

I really like mine, had it for around 2 years. Did you change the output resolution of your Xbox?

@@DReviewTing I haven't noticed any but I use a Hyperkin HDMI cable with my OG Xbox. I use this with Genesis (Mega Drive), PS2 and Wii. And you see the screen tearing on gameplay and capture?

Please note that there are noly three input interface of this product: RGBS SCART , component YPbPr, VGA/RGBHV. Probably not, i use generic Premiumcord S-video to VGA converter for my Commodore 64 to Samsung monitor, which have VGA and also HDMI input, picture is fine, but may be even sharper with that retrotink 2x converter. It is not that expensive :-)

RetroScaler2x can be had for like 30 bucks. Different set of inputs so there are situations where you might want one device or the other. The RetroScaler2x is Component, Composite, S-video. Basically a clone of the retro tink 2x. Better build quality. Runs an older version of the tinks firmware but it's rock solid for cheap money.

Would you recommend the retroscaler? I have come across that many times in the past, but I always have hesitated to purchase because I could only ever find it on aliexpress 😅

@@DReviewTing I would highly suggest it. Aliexpress actually has some really good buyer protections. It's pretty similar in buyer safety to Ebay or Amazon it's pretty hard to get truly scammed.

A lot of your captures are showing screen tearing. Is that how it looks when not put on a capture card?

I've o ly ever played it through my pc, and noticed the tearing there. I need to check on a regular tv/monitor, that's a great point.

there's an option it's called frame lock it's stops screen tearing in web ui
