One cool thing about old-style American trains is that every carriage was different. Makes for a more interesting-looking train.

Excellent Video!!! One thought though might be to show the "shiny"-side of her rather than in the shadows during run-by's", etc.

Unfortunately, all passengers were told to stay on the shady side so that no one would be left behind during re-boarding. We tried crossing to the sunny side and a conductor stopped us. 🙃

Hate to break it to ya but UPs Big Boy is the largest coal burning steam locomotive AND one of the top three most powerful steam locomotives ever built. This locomotive despite being beautiful is roughly half the size and horsepower of the UP 4884 Big Boy.
@jameskinglion2 жыл бұрын
the 4014 is an oil fire now, so that makes 261 the most significant Coal fire loco UP remove the coal grates from 4014, and some of them are now in the 261 firebox

@@jameskinglion I thought 611 was larger than the 261. Maybe I was mistaken though.

261 is NOT the Largest operating Steam excursion Locomotive that title belongs to UP's Big Boy!
@ZJKFilms4 ай бұрын
Correct, but it IS the largest steam locomotive in the U.S. that burns coal. 4014 burns oil.

What whistle does this engine have it sounds like a 6 chime whistle
@ZJKFilms3 жыл бұрын
It’s a Santa Fe 5-Chime that has been re-tuned to sound like a Milwaukee 6-Chime. She actually has two whistles and a horn: the re-tuned 5 Chime, her original Milwaukee-Shops 3 Chime which is rigged to a foot pedal, and is now used sparingly, and her original A-125 Air Horn that came from the factory, usually used to ward off those who are too close to the tracks.
