two things - half a mon gets cotton/press, dubwool - body press turns defense into the attack stat before dealing damage. there’s a lot of jank in the calculation but basically fur coat and sword of ruin, abilities that affect defense, do not increase/decrease its damage respectively. things like choice band, huge power, tablets of ruin, however, do affect it. sorry furfrou.

I used to get a ton of value of out of facade cotton guard dd roost m-alt in gen6/7 UU because you could run a bunch of special bulk and become unkillable. Showing DD early was a great way to bait twave/wisp, which then also prevented toxic and boosted facade. It also took advantage of a lot of other popular megas, like lop. It's worse when the power levels are higher, but it worked well enough for me to hit top 10 territory both gens
