The Return of The Canon F 1

So I finally got a working Canon F1 again.
Film stocks are Kodak Ultramax & Colour Plus with Fuji Superia 200 expired unknown date.
Scanned on my Epson 550.
Again thanks to Greg at CW Services for fixing the Camera.
B Roll was shot by myself & my partner Qing.

I like my F1 a lot. Ordered it from Japan and it came wrapped in Japanese newspapers. Even the unboxing was fun. This camera really brought back my passion for photography for me. All the social media and Instagram messed it up in the first place.

It's my favourite 35mm film camera too. My original F1 also came in Japanese news papers too.

Here because I’m seconds away from buying a Leica and was ready to sell my unused gear starting with my canon f1, Hassy 530c and some lenses. I’ll shoot last rolls and rethink my idea. Nice video.

11:40 the 400D shot is stunning, the F1 version has a heavy blue tint, personal choice or just what the Epson does with scans? I have just got done repairing an F1 and can't wait to finally shoot with it! Amazing camera.

Honestly unsure as the 400D scan was done by the lab and my flat bed was the colour plus but I do think there would be an inherent look difference especially highlights and halanation. I do need to do a follow up video on color science and scanning at some point but its way less fun of a project than going out and shooting. Enjoy your Canon F1, is a great 35mm camera. I'm gonna do a video with the 250 back for it next year so if your interested in that. Just keep your eye out. :)

Curiously, it looks like you have a late model F-1 with early model film back (missing film speed holder).

Yeah my first F1 was the first model and it broke. This F1 in the video is the later model (Not to be confused with the New F1) but it had a polaroid back so I ended swapping the backs when my first died.
