I loved the Tracy Becky Steve storyline. Also how Tracy didn't care noone on the street liked her. She did some horrific things but Gail is hardly the high and mighty with David as her son ... David and Tracy getting together was crazy. Such delicious television.... 2000-2016 solid stories

It was absurd. The feud was a rehash of the Steve-Tracy-Karen storyline: gobby wife miscarries, ends up infertile, Steve inexplicably takes Tracy's side, the marriage breaks down. Even more ridiculous was Tracy's never-explained release on a technicality and why Steve and Tracy like each other in the first place: the first time he married her, he was still in love with Becky and dumped her at their wedding reception for lying about a miscarriage; the second time she punched him at their reception for sleeping with Leanne - her usual reaction to being cheated on being to club the man to death around the head; and why she has always been infatuated with this gormless drip is anybody's guess. Today's Tracy is a far cry from the ice-cold villain and murderess she once was. She's now used as a pantomime bitch and for overly acted "humour" scenes. And somehow Steve has forgiven her for making his life a misery for years with lies and tormenting, and breaking up two of his marriages (three if you include their own). They only "match" each other now by completely rewriting their personalities as two unserious, gormless individuals. I know it's only a soap but it works best when it is based on or a somewhat exaggerated version of real life compacted into one street. It loses its lustre when the viewer has to suspend all pretence of being convinced.

It was down to a dodgy forensic expert at her trial, whose credentials were subsequently called into question - meaning that any testimony they may have provided at her trial would have also been called into question - making her conviction unsafe. Aside from that, I am in complete agreement with everything you've said!
