Looks like fun. I have bowled a 228. But I have converted a 7-10 split several years ago. It was unexpected and any one that saw it I got an applause from people in the bowling alley. Good luck in mini golf and also in your travels. Have fun and stay safe!

Many moons ago, I bowled duckpins (which most people have never heard of) in a Thursday night league. My sisters and Mom and Dad also bowled. We had such a blast. Afterward, each week, we’d go to a local pizza joint and have food and “beverage” and laughed a lot. Such fond memories. I was never very good, but I had fun. Brooks and Elisha, there is a reason the lanes are slippery. Take a few steps then sliiiide up to the foul line, and let the momentum of your body help your arm with getting the ball down the lane. Rolling the ball as opposed to throwing it usually leads to better, more consistent results. The tick marks on the floor and the lane show you where to aim the ball, depending on whether it’s your first shot for a strike or whether you’re clearing the lane for your spare attempt. I love that you had fun, and that Elisha plays but doesn’t get phased by it. No matter what y’all share with us, we know it’s going to be a fun time! Thank you. As I write this, it’s March of 2023, so it’s been awhile since you shared this.

Here's a tip. Look between the head pin and the 3 pin which is to its right in behind it. Focus on that area as you throw the ball.

First tip is to get your own ball. It’s much easier to be consistent -throwing the ball at the spot you want it-, which is the foundation for learning all the other techniques, when you have a ball that is drilled to fit your hand and is at a weight you’re comfortable with. You don’t need the most expensive ball on the market either. DV8 makes a plastic ball for about $50. Beginners don’t need a $250-300 reactive resin asymmetric core ball.

It’s hard to get any kind of consistency in your roll with balls the alley supplies. If you want to get better at bowling I’d suggest you get your own ball custom drilled. For a starter ball, find a cheap one (around $100 or less) with a reactive resin cover; get finger plugs and a thumb slug. Once you get that done, learn the handshake release so you can get a good arc on it as it approaches the pins. When I got my own I upped my average from about 130 with lane balls to just shy of 190 within a month of bowing just twice a week. A lot of that was just getting more consistent throws and being able to pick up more spares as a result. My high-game has been done twice in a fun league at 218 scratch with no handicap added.

Love bowling. I used to be in a league and my highest score was 267. And tip for both of you if your fingers are sticking when you throw the ball that usually means your fingers are wet or sweaty and you need to dry them off. There is vent at the blows air at the front of the ball return. Use that to dry your hands. Or like i used to do during League's is keep baby powder in our ball bags that helps to keep fingers dry.

Great video. My highest scratch game was a 267 and I held an average of 199 to 203. Advice for Brooks as you approach keep shoulders squared. Elisha I would advise to aim at the middle arrow with how she throws the ball. Hope that helps
@firebarth925 жыл бұрын
I would suggest using the dots you see on the floor. Aim for the middle and left or right one. Its a strike zone. I used to bowl in my junior and senior year of high school and now I bowl on a league with my friends. Love your videos Brooke! Love ya 2 Ellisha! (Sorry if I spelled your name wrong)

Shake hands with the lane and remember to land on the opposite foot of the hand your bowling with so you don't have to go around your leg to throw the ball which ends up getting it thrown it to the gutter. It will help give you more control.

For small spare pick ups, stand opposite of where the pins are and go cross lane. You have more room, and with a hook, or curve ball, you won't hit the gutter, unless you're pretty bad. It's fun to see you guys do something different than mini golf. Definitely need a bit of coaching on your bowling. But you make it look fun, along with your minigolf. Totally enjoy your videos.

For someone who doesn't bowl that often you do pretty good. The most important thing is making sure the ball fits snug not to loose and not too tight also make sure you are comfortable with the weight you don't want too heavy or too light. Even though they look like pool balls the number on the ball refers to the weight. Elisha is a natural and has a good release and follow through.

To get a strike you need to aim at the 1 and 2 pin for left handers at a 3-6 degrees or 1 and 3 pin for right handers at a 3-6 degrees. DO NOT go for the head pin. p.s. Put spin on the ball to get it.

Elisha needs to slide with her left foot so her hip gets out of the way. Brooks is stepping sliding correctly but finish it with a hand shake. In other words, when you are swinging the ball from the back your hand is under/behind the ball and when your arm starts swinging forward pretend like you are going to shake someones hand at the release of the ball. Remember: 1, 2, 3, slide (RH...right, left, right, slide the left) LH opposite.

Not bad at all. Seemed like you guys were better at having control of the ball when you went to pick up your spares. I bowl on a league and when I was taught to bowl was to aim the ball at the pocket which for a right hander that throws straight you aim for the 1 and 3 pin. A lefty and throws a straight ball to aim for the 1 and 2 pins by standing to the right of the center dot or to the left of the center dot. If you throw the ball with a hook on it you aim for the same pins, but move over to the last dot closest to the gutter. When Elisha got 9 and left the 10 pin standing I felt bad because that pin is a right hander's nightmare. Same goes for a left hander and the 7 pin. I've never bowled a 300, but my highest score I ever bowled was a 233.

I’ve shot 300 12 times. From what I could see, Elisha needs to throw with her left foot out because her arm is trying to around her right leg and it causes her to, in essence, whip the ball around and it’s not consistent. She should also stand on the approach with her right foot pointing to the middle dot and try to throw the ball over the third arrow. Brooks, you form is better since your throwing the ball on your right foot due to the fact you are throwing left handed but you are letting the ball get behind your body and to compensate you are also whipping the ball around your body which makes for a very inconsistent shot. You need to have your left foot on the center dot and aim for the third arrow on the left.
@patrickhardison96696 жыл бұрын
Elisha, if you stand a little more to the right of the alley and aim for the 2nd arrow from the right on the lane you should have better luck with your first shot. Brooks, logically, try the same on the left hand side.
