I mean, the "better items" in the description isn't a lie. You DO actually get exclusively items from the higher quality tiers. It's just that, unfortunately, edmund considers holy mantle and nine lives to be low-quality items (probably as a favor to normal runs so they show up more often then) and so they don't show up as tinted lost.

@@Orillion123456 While this is true, I can't help but think they knew what they were doing when they exclude Nine Lives and Holy Mantle from the pool as, besides those 2 pretty much all other excluded items are things that would be exclusively useless for Tainted Lost like HP Up's, contact damage items, and items that use health a resource.

@@Orillion123456 First, there’s no guarantee. It’s a 20% chance to reroll. Second, Holy Mantle and 9 Lives aren’t considered low tier items. 9 Lives is 3, and Holy Mantle is 4. The reason they don’t show up is because Tainted Lost can only get items with the “offensive tag.”

Tainted Lost does not start with the holy mantle, so he once again dies in one hit. In addition, he cannot get the holy mantle, along with most (but not all) defensive items, like gnawed leaf and dead cat. However, he does start with a holy card that gives him a one use only holy mantle effect (which ISN'T removed when switching floors), holy cards spawn more often, any items that are considered "useless" for the lost (Pure HP ups, healing items, flight, spectral tears, anything that requires damage to be taken to activate) do not appear, and any low tier items may be replaced with a higher tier item, allowing him to be a glass cannon. He still has flight and spectral tears.

In case you actually wanted to know, Ben Franklin died a year after the US chose it's first president. Washington has such support for being king (and didn't want it) that they elected him as president instead.
