Rather than traditional Christianity's emphasis on Jesus' crucifixion as dying for our sins, Robert and Emily show that his crucifixion and resurrection were actually a perfect mirror of Jesus' teachings, a real teaching demonstration that has carried into our own times with extending love and charity for our fellow brothers and sisters. This radical message of love and forgiveness as the real meaning of his life is backed by prominent theological sources. A fascinating new way of looking at Jesus!

This is an incredibly well delivered message Robert! Your explanation of what’s truly on the Bible about Jesus, the teacher, is flawless. I’m grateful to you and Emily for the job you two do in helping many tie loose ends and give new perspectives that help clear up the true teachings of Jesus.

I just purchased the course "Jesus in A Course in Miracles" and found this video as its forward. Since this video does not have any "Course In Miracles" within it, I wasn't sure what to make of it. What I found are the real teaching and thoughts of Jesus. This is the message and philosophy he taught, at its core. I was so overwhelmed by this video, I sent it to a few others to review it. I finally found the real Messiah; the real Jesus and I am very, very grateful for it. Thank you

Just re-watched this, and have again found it to be such a kind, thoughtful, and wonderful analysis of the Historic Jesus, especially in its conclusion. The lesson then, is in shifting our focus towards listening to Jesus' message and teachings and moving forward with their embodiment in our lives.

It is such a divided scholarship to redefine Jesus after the Catholic dogmatic purging. I resonate with about 60%-70% percent of the New Testament's accounts of the life of Jesus storyline as actually from the words and deeds of Jesus, much like the Jeffersonian Bible edits. I resonate most strongly with the Course's understanding of Jesus philosophically, as well as Jesus, My Autobiography, a truly Course inspired supplement for practicing as Jesus embodied the teachings of Love as revealed in the Course.

Very nice, thank you. It's so important to understand Jesus' true value for us, as teacher more than savior. There are only hints in the old testament such as in Ezekiel 16:49.

very nice presentation, thank you so much robert & emily! couldnt we say that BY being our TEACHER he is simulaneously our SAVIOUR, since his teachings aim to save us from the imprisonment of illusion? but indeed he is not our "dying saviour" since he did not die but he is rather our LIVING saviour since thats what his teachings are about - life, eternal life, overcoming of the illusion of death.

I love this video. I wait patiently for each of yours to be posted. Recently a thought about Jesus that keeps coming back to me about his life and subsequent death. How does his teachings about love and forgiveness and generosity, lead to his death? What kind of fear does that represent for us? Does this make it harder for some to follow him? Is it all ego? Lol I guess this is what ACIM is all about. Thanks for all you do. Your videos and ACIM have lead me to do healing work. Love to you both.

Wonderfully instructive presentation. My only "complaint", as an ordained minister and lifelong historical Jesus quester, is that Jesus seems to have had a sharp prophetic edge to him, which caused him to use sharp--yes, judgmental--language on more than one occasion when speaking of and to the rich and powerful. And being fully human, Jesus was not above losing his temper a time or two, as in the cleansing of the temple. Which is not to detract from "the unique voiceprint" you so compellingly capture and convey.

Belief / Spirituality are too important to put them on the trust of some politicians (twisting religions). Yes, question everything. I think you're on to something with this perspective. And yes, I can resonate because I have my "conspiracies" with Christianity. I view 2 separate entities: 1. The Creator of the world which is heartless (just think of natural selection..), and this is not "the devil" bc he has its own great and necessary qualities. 2. God the Spirit which is represented by Jesus and its pure love (spirituality). But we're equating Jesus with (spiritual) Love, and this Kingdom slowly coming/forming which is based on people. Thus the God here is actually The human Spirit. This is sort of a "virtual" entity like a software installed on hardware human brains, so its a network entity. So because its not material / biological it doesn't die, it just evolves having basically supernatural powers. The problem is the limits / lack of limit in helping (loving). And here we come to the political aspect. I mean would you help a H!tler to destroy the planet? I'd say we're back to Maslow's Table of human needs, where the lower on the pyramid the problem of the person is, the important is to help.

Doesn't ACIM say that Jesus remains a savior cause he saved us all from worldly elusions and madness? Why not fill the gap between the New Testament and ACIM more? Course repeatedly says that without Jesus distance between us and God would be too much, which makes Jesus the Christ, the way and the truth back to Father.

what is Q?
@josephwilson-doan4163 Жыл бұрын
Q is a book of sayings of Jesus that humanity has not found. Scholars came to the conclusion that Q is a real book that has been lost because Matthew and Luke have the exact same wordings in a lot of what those books claim Jesus said, including teachings and parables. The citations in the presentation come from a reproduction of the lost book that was made word for word from the books of Matthew and Luke. Does that help? Any questions?

Here's my favorite article on Q: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1996/12/the-search-for-a-no-frills-jesus/376729/. Here is a place where you can purchase a copy: www.fortresspress.com/store/product/2482/The-Sayings-of-Jesus-The-Sayings-Gospel-Q-in-English. Here is a page with Q resources: www.earlychristianwritings.com/q.html. The basic idea is that scholars believe that Matthew and Luke drew from a written collection of sayings. These sayings appear in Matthew and Luke often in the same wording and the same relative order.

Are the people who tortured jesus his own projections or my projections? Thank you!
@CircleOfAtonement20 күн бұрын
@@ZhenjiangNING-jf9ub The way he tells it in the Course is that they were simply people-sleeping Sons of God-like you and me. But here’s a quote that speaks to others projecting onto him. “I elected, both for your sake and mine, to demonstrate that the most outrageous assault, as judged by the ego, did not matter. As the world judges these things, but not as God knows them, I was betrayed, abandoned, beaten, torn, and finally killed. It was perfectly clear that this was only because of the projection of others onto me, because I had not harmed anyone and had healed many.” [CE T-6.I.16]
