Your can setup is called a Whiskey Jack or Raven set. Works great to catch birds. They smell the bait, land on the jaws of the trap and lean down through the jaws tripping the trigger to get to the bait in the can. Martin don't like climbing down to investigate anything and they are nervous about holes where the one end is closed. That is why the box works best with both ends open but one end screened so the martin can see light through the trap but have to go through the trap to get to the bait. The darkness inside the box helps hide the trigger as well as long as the trap is inserted well into the slots in the sides of the box. Later.

Yeah, the marten are going to try fit thru that opening between the trap and coffee can, space is too big, he should have the trap touching the can, right up against it so there is no space! Going to have bad catches like that also!

I cut notches in the can in the four corners where the 110 sets and one notch for the spring. Cut the notches right and friction will hold the 110 firmly in place. I hang the can upside down and wire the bait with mechanics wire drive a hole in the top of can and pull the bait inside the can with the wire. By doing this upside down you will not catch birds. I hang these on trees with lots of branches to hide them from the birds. Wire your chain to a large branch and your done. The set will work all winter.

Put those tools like your machete and x and Hammer in your trailer sled and you'll always have them

I think you may need to drill weep holes in bottom of can so the stinky fish wafts down to ground where you're fur is.

You should drill a hole in your cans to drain any liquids.

I’m really excited to see how your pan works out however, I’m not very confident that the coffee can s on the trees will work for you. If they were open on the bottom and wired on the top opening I would have more faith in th3m catching you fur. Good luck.👍👍👍✌🏻😎
