That cathedral is beyond magnificent. It reminds me of the ones in Vienna and Edinburgh, I suppose I am thinking of the colour of the stone, rather than the design. I believe Cologne also has the most magnificent art gallery. As almost always on any cruise, the cuisine looks superb. Those sandwiches! And the lamb looked perfect! Thank you for the video! Looks great once again, guys give us a lot of information, comparing cruise ships to river cruises, Which is your favourite. Not easy to answer as your river cruise looked amazing and food looked awesome, Sue

Glad you enjoyed. Oh, it is difficult as they are completely different. River cruising is small, intimate and a different pace, evening more about the meal whereas cruise ships are getting bigger and all about entertainment, multiple lounges and restaurants. So it would depend on what you are after on the particular cruise - both allow you to do as much or as little as you like, but river cruising definitely has the advantage or docking in the towns and never needing to queue for anything.

That's a huge bonus of river cruising, you doc in the towns and can come and go as you please with no queues to get on or off! :)

Looks good but I think I would be concerned about the rooms being immediately below the upper outside deck and being disturbed by people walking around and furniture being moved etc

Good point... didn't speak to anyone in those rooms to find out how much noise their was. We did notice the upper deck had something similar to 'astro turf' so this may have been to absorb sound?

When you are on a deck with people above you, there is minimal noise from above. Certainly no different than any other hotel/regular cruise ship.

Normally the highlights of Cologne would be floodlit, but Germany has turned off most of its floodlighting on public buildings due to Putin turning off the gas!

Yes, we were talking to the Cruise Director one evening and he said they'd started turning them off due to the events going on.
