Actually, this rock has a story to it: One day the god from the sea and the god from the land played a game of rock paper scissors. The god from the land had rock while the god from the sea had scissors, so he would've had lost. Though, the god from the sea was so furious about its loss that he simply cut the rock, which made him win by cheating.

No need to worry about the Hongi I.e nose press, as our culture adapts as our nation traverses between the levels of restrictions are imposed when needed. If a restrictive level is in place due to a Covid outbreak, then the hōngī is swapped out for elbow bumps etc. You may want to note that we are one of the nations that enjoys a mostly Covid free lifestyle right now
