Let's set the record straight. Dina Merrill was NOT a movie icon. She never even starred in a movie. She was an actress who was usually one of several in any given movie. She was however VERY wealthy, but it came from inheritance not acting. Her father was E.F Hutton an American financier and her mom was Marjorie Merriweather Post, from the Post cereal fortune. Her first husband was heir to the Colgate-Palmolive fortune.

Janet Jackson made $25 million one year and paid her staff and entourage and was left with less than $15 million. Their work is hard. You ever write a composition and read it over and over and over again. Imagine that’s your life and job. I think they are all over paid just like athletes.
