You are right. We Nigerians existed so many years before white men existed. Even here in Yorubaland where I live most of their names are related to God or greatness of God. But the whites came and told us that our names are evil that we should do baptism and be given the name of saints. To them our fathers are sinners while theirs are saints.

@danielolowu my brother I am equally in awe of them as much as you. Fearless, always big risk takers but all time with smiles on their faces even in the face of difficulties. They push forward without minding any obstacles on their way. And I agreed with you about God (Chi). Funny Chinua Achebe wrote in Things Fall Apart that saying is "when one agrees, his God (Chi) will also agree". I wish Nigeria will harness the gift of these people to transform Nigeria.

@adekunleyussuf4259 bro stop the hate... btw, you see all the people along that southern Nigeria down to southern cameroon? We interacted and respected each other without war until colonialization occurred. We're kinda of one, but had different political and social culture, and sometimes borrowed from each other even masquerades and cultural dance. Igbos is only unique because of the system of government where power was decentralized and rested on the council of elders just like the Hebrews and the Greeks. (You must have heard that "Igbos has no King"). This senses of independence and self determination in governance is why the colonial masters are scared of the Igbos up till this day because if Africans understand the importance of grassroot governing structure that can be united into a larger entity, but based on agreement/alliance, it'll be easy to control our resources out of the hands of our own people who are not working for our interest and we will rapid developement automatically. Please stop stop hating the Igbos, they're just fighting for survival just like other Africans and Igbos do not have the mind to suppress other people if you have studied their nature. They fight injustice more than you can imagine.

Igbo nation went from war and the destruction of their communities, from 20 pounds to richest in Africa. To put this in a context, the war happened just 50 years ago, kids who were born during the war are 50 years now and they’re the ones who broke all barriers to become billionaires Igbo nation went from 20 pounds, being left with nothing to the richest and most affluent tribe in Africa in just a lifetime… Gods grace is sufficient and beyond human comprehension
