Hey Rick and Morty fan here and all I’m gonna say is you’re right the anime was not a great idea for some reason. Just doesn’t feel like an anime if feels like a weird stylistic choice if you go on Google, I bet you can find a better drawing of Rick and Morty in an anime art style. Matter fact, I did That right now. Another creator that goes by the name Malec made a full anime intro for Rick and Morty is way better than what [adult swim] present to us. It was cool at first because you know having references within the shows back to a popular anime is awesome that shows the appreciation of what influence it had on that person and how they implemented that element into their own show and the most creators still do it to this day. This is a prime example of not everything needs an anime because this I know a lot of people put a hard work including an animators, but this just feels like it’s chasing a trend. It feel soulless but overall that’s all I have to say.

They didn't go too far into the anime esthetic. If it was more Naruto/My Hero I think a lot more people would've liked it. The style they went with just wasn't different enough from normal Rick n Morty. It's just... More Rick and Morty but it looks *slightly* different.

Each Rick & Morty season (with the exception of 7 kinda), always began with Rick & Morty doing something by eachothers side but here its just Rick doing extreme stuff with Morty totally absent in his life. This wasn't "Rick AND Morty" its just "Rick and I guess Morty". That is the moment this quote unquote anime fell off on first air.

I like the art-style. Very Tekkon-Kinkreet/FLCL. But the writing was generic anime and not Rick & Morty so I quit after about 10 mins.

I dont get why they needed to add a new love insterest. Morty already loves Jessica and it would of been cool to see another side to Jessica we never seen in the OG cause shes usually just a background character and just known as "Morty's crush". They missed a lot of oppurtunity for character development lacked in the OG. And the art style 😅 literally looks like what japan imagines what western cartoons look like

I don’t agree. Rick and morty can definetly be taken seriously. That was the problem with season 3. It got less serious and stakes mathered less. Everybody loved the evil morty scheme. If they for real tries that now, i’m down.

Rick and Morty has a simple drawing style, with complex animation, especially when it comes to fights and weapons. The anime, went with the same art-style, but whackier(uglier) , but the animation itself was slice of life pacing, its so jarring, and soo boring its like animating jjk like Usagi drop. It went from action to sleep. Scott Pilgrim is basically like avatar in a sense its more cartoon than anime, and they animated it to suit the medium.

When I first saw a trailer I seriously thought it was just a joke and a funny way of advertising a new season. At most I thought they would have one episode in that art style like how South Park had an anime episode or community having episodes where they switch the style to claymation or animated.

I can admit when im wrong. I thought the anime was gonna be bad ass but i left the first episode; confused, bored and wondering why tf they felt the need to add a girl with time powers when Rick is literally a mortal god himself so powers are not needed in this type of show. I was utterly disapointed 😭😭 but at the same time i was like "thats so japanese to start a series off confusing with flashbacks" Which is why anime kinda fell off for me. Just my opnion. I still love weebs and reading manga. But im done with anime unless it changes 😂
