The fact that Erica doesn't realize she's broken up with Mateas for the right reasons and begs for him to come back is sad. Ricki asks her why she breaks up with him and hears all of the red flags of how he doesn't like her hanging out with her friends or anyone rather and immediately interrupts her. She redirects back to the show even though she hears the abusive red flags and says to Erica well this is about what YOU did even though Erica was answering her question. For the sake of keeping, it sexy summer secret fun Ricki completely ignores the potential abuse then sends this woman out on the streets to beg for this guy back that she left for good reason. Ricki loved to have those preachy you need to turn your life around intervention shows that were so popular in the 80s and 90s, but when it's off brand for this episode she completely redirects to entertain her audience. I was so disappointed to see that from her.

I saw a few red flags throughout here! This one was a well observed one, then the young 17 year old girl who brought a guy she had a crush on and he very obviously didn;t like her like that until she backtracked and tried to insinutate she was ok with an open relationship and he could do what he wanted when they weren't together since they liived far from each other and suddenly he was into it and wanting a **paid for** date that night... He wouldn't even want to spend his own money on the girl, he wants it paid by the show!! And Ricki defending him and encouraging this date is gross! This girl is still really young and naive and probably thinks he will change his mind and see her value which obviously he won't! He sees an opportunity to use her at no cost to him and is taking it!! Ricki is a pick me and definitely not a girl's girl and it is obvious throughout many of these episodes! Always siding with the toxic abusive man unless it suits the show;s narrative to be against him! Gross! AND can we talk about that mid-show part where they ask if anyone knows anyone that drugs women to take advantage of them??!!! Like isn't that a CRIME??!!! People willingly phoning in to admit to this for the show like it's not a crime??!!! What the hell was wrong with the 90s??!! Was this not recognized as illegal back then to so lightheartedly request this for a future show??!! WHAT??!!
