Thats the problem between first and youngest siblings sometimes. The oldest becomes a new parent and they react. . . . Not well. Which isn't their fault, thats normal. A kid isn't meant to be a parent. But a small child only knows that their safe harbor turned away. So now they need to figure out this big world by themselves.

This is so true bc I was Mikey and I found out my brothers didn’t want me all the time, but I changed but became separated from my fam, now I’m doing therapy and living a happy life

@@MiaTriedStuff I get you. I found out from my mum that my oldest brother, who left for collage when I was still in dippers, used to walk the floor with me when I cried at night so my mum didn't have to. Slowly everyone of my brothers left me behind before I entered the double digits and while I now know that they were just growing up, it left scars. I learned to depend on me because everyone leaves. Thats just life.

I don’t know when it happened, or even why, but I began to ignore my sibling. They were annoying me and I was on the verge of a breakdown at that point. I don’t know what was going through their head, but they must have thought I didn’t hear them when they called to me. They did everything to get my attention until I would snap. They thought this was funny, but I was dying on the inside. Every day, had me yelling at them in one way or another. I don’t remember when it happened, but they no longer came to me for help, but instead found happiness in annoying me until I snapped. It wasn’t until we were older, then entering their teenage years, that they realized that they were tormenting me. They became independent and stopped seeking me out. At first, I enjoyed myself, but as time passed, I realized that I missed them. I tried to reach out, but every effort was futile. I wish I could go back and realize I needed help sooner instead of just snapping at them. I love them with everything I have and we are now slowly building up our relationship again. We know that we will never be perfect siblings, but understanding when and where our boundaries lie was the first step in being siblings again. So far, it’s been good between us.
