You all might be down south but the Mahindra tractor doesn't know the difference. This is great info about what size and model to get according to the job and not the acres, Well presented.

I love how they have deals, so you get everything to need for the type of land you are dealing with.

For sure. I also think its cool to see how we use tractors down here in Florida on Flat land to do certain tasks, and people in other areas of the country use the tractor for their application. It's neat to me to see how versatile tractors are. Thanks a lot for the comment. Hope you had a good holiday

good video Hank. Picking the right tractor is so hard. I started with a BX2200 sub compact and when I went to upgrade I was looking at the 26 Max and then I got interested in a 1533 or a 2500 series and it kept getting bigger. I have no regrets about what I ended up getting but sometimes I do wish I had gone with a physically smaller tractor. Going from a sub compact to a utility takes some time to get used to. One thing to keep in mind is what you need now vs what you may need later. That's how I ended up with a utility tractor. Right now a 1533 or something similar would be perfect but in the future things may change and I didn't want to buy twice. On the other hand right now you may need a bigger machine to accomplish your goals but then you might need something smaller to just maintain your area. It is a delicate balance for sure.

I bought a Mahindra 2555 hst 4*4 cab over and I didn't realize how much bigger it was than my old ford. I have a 20 ft 10k trailer but I've never loaded it because it looks like it may not fit the fender Wells lol

I've looked at all those Mahindras and I also agree the best all around Tractor is the 4540. No bells and whistles just strong , simple and less to go wrong because it's old School. The best part is you don't have to pay $45,000 to get an equivalent Tractor from Deere and Kubota.

That's right Mark. I got genuinely happy when John mentioned the 4540. Lol

If you grow crops, get a 75 hp. For hay operation probably 50 hp is enough. For anything else smaller tractors can be considered.

What kind of tractor do I need if I'm gonna have 30 acres and be a rock farmer?
@brokefarmerjohn24224 жыл бұрын
You absolutely can’t go by size of property lol. I have 3 acres and went from a JD 4320 cab to a Mahindra 5555 because of loader ability. I deff have biggest tractor on the street lmao. Nice video, I deff agree with that dealer, tractor size is based on preference and what you plan to do with it.
@HamiltonvilleFarm4 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 the 5555 is definitely a big tractor. !

That 5555 was what caught my eye for Mahindra. Since picked up more acres. Looking at the 8100.

Great information when tractor shopping. Our 33HP is right on the borderline of being too small, a 40HP would have been a better fit.
@HamiltonvilleFarm5 жыл бұрын
Everyone always says go one size bigger don't they? Thanks for watching 👍

We were shopping in the used market which limits what's available. With the loader and backhoe attachment included, we couldn't pass up the deal.

yeah i hear ya. Lots to factor in, thats for sure...things like "how much raccoon food am I gonna have to buy? Things like that. 😂😃
@brandoncaldwell954 жыл бұрын
We gone 45hp at first 4045 model. Did everything we needed up till a couple months ago. Tractor turned out to not be big enough. We decided to go overkill with 75hp now (6075). Future plans are hay within 4 years so, why not? Also, heavy brush cutting. 20 acres and doing custom hire. 10 acres hay 10 acres cattle maybe leased land later.

How does the shuttle transmission work on the 3600 series, similar to the 6000 series shuttle?
@HamiltonvilleFarm5 жыл бұрын
A short answer is, they operate the same. There is a size difference, but both are wet clutches and both are power shuttle shifts. Which basically means you don't need to mash the clutch in to go fwd or reverse. ..good question. Thanks for the comment.

Ya, no on the 1635. 20 acres rough ground and deal with brush that needs to go bye bye. We just gone over kill. 6075 with a modern Ag Viper12. Had that 3500 series. Great tractor, couldnt keep up.
