That costs them money to retool and re-engineer the console. Sony do it but Microsoft are far too tight to do it too. If the new Xbox Series consoles don't have smaller chips and updated WiFi they are a waste of money.

I had an AHA moment with Xbox recently. I play on PC but my partner plays casually on the S. I guess I've never realized that both shared the same account because I was playing games on the Xbox App on PC and then when I went to play it on the S, everything carried over completely seamlessly. My partner is rather unhappy that I'm more frequently playing on the S.

My personal preference is keeping my Xbox One for my disc games and using my Series S for new titles and to play on GamePass. One downside not mentioned is if you use an external third party drive (and I’m not sure if this applies to even the Xbox brand SSD’s as well) but you will see that a lot of game titles will not play directly from your external SSD. You have to transfer the game to the console’s internal drive meaning you’ll be playing a transfer game to make room on the internal and also moving some games back to the external SSD 🤦‍♂️

USB NVMe SSD is a good option IMO and totally overlooked in the video - as long as you have enough space on the internal for the current games you want to play, shuffling between it and the main drive takes very little time and doesn’t need to be done often.

Physical only for me. I still buy CDs, DVDs, and BDs as well. I have no interest in an all digital console. In that case you're always going to need internet service to play & download games and you better have fast speeds 500Mb+ which adds to the cost. Imo with the storage space 2TB should be the base in 2024/2025, and there should be options for 3 and 4TB consoles. I am amazed we're still talking 512GB & 1TB with this gen

Just got a Series X OG for 430 euro. Pretty happy with it, it's really a lot faster than the One X. Had to get one of those proprietary cards to expand the storage by 1tb though, as even with just my smart delivery games, the internal storage filled up. Disc drive is essential for me as I have a ton of 360 and some OG Xbox games, as well as a bunch of X1 games. Looking forward to the next few years of gaming on it, as there is a bunch of stuff coming down the line, as well as a very healthy online fighting game scene to help justify the price of game pass. Although, MvC Arcade Collection NEEDS to come to Xbox.

I think the simple answer is Series X for a "permanent" living room situation, and having a Series S (along with Game Pass) if you plan on taking your Xbox with you on trips or the likes.... and of course, the answer of storage and disk space is soley dependant on if you care for physical copies (which, i don't) and if you have an extensive library of games.... I'd say, the only sad thing is that, as of yet, there's no easy portable option that gives you Series X performance.... maybe when that cylindrical XBOX (heh, the irony lol) releases, that may be the option that checks that box

After using both consoles on a 4k OLED for some time, the Series X is definitely much better looking, but the S also looks really damn good. If you are only planning on playing Call of Duty, the Series S is probably the better option for you, if you don't mind the lack of a disc drive.

I started with the white 512 GB Series S because of a Verizon deal where it was $150+tax for Verizon customers back in March of 2023. (I'm not a V customer but a friend is and they helped me out.) That said, that was my entry point into current gen as I couldn't afford nor justify dropping $400+tax all at once (key phrase: all at once) on a digital PS5 (a model that I have no interest in) at that time much less $500+tax for the Series X or disc model PS5. Fast forward to November of 2023 and Best Buy was selling the Series X for $350 which I took advantage of. And though Target did have the fat disc model PS5 available at the same price, it required being up at 2 am to shop for it on their site for store pickup with the hope that others & bots didn't snap them first. No thanks, it's not that serious. Fast forward to now, I use both and store different games on both with a small handful of games that are installed on both in case I decide to take the Series S to a friend's place or hotel with the intent of playing a few games during my time away from home and from my Series X.

@b4rs629 Nothing will ever be 100 bucks with modern consoles, but the difference is Switch is still actually still selling 7 years into it's life unlike the Xbox. Xbox is dead last and thus should be the cheapest 100-150 for the cheaper models/less powerful. I also have every Xbox console to date except the Series S/X.

Really, only Xbox versions you need to look at is Xbox Series S 1tb and normal Xbox Series X. 512gb is not enough for a digital only console but if you're on a very tight budget, you can get 512gb Series S cause it's often on a big discount/cheap bundle but generally, 50$ more is worth it for more storage. With Xbox Series X... Just pay 50$ extra for a disc drive, all-digital is a complete waste of money and 600$ for a console... Just no, buy a PC at that price. Ofcourse, it depends on a country so the price diffrences might be bigger making those other versions useful

I have a massive external SSD for my PlayStation and if I don’t wanna uninstall a reinstall, I just move it. What SSD and move something onto it to make space once I find out whatever it was shit and I deleted. I can just move something back. can you do that on the Xbox as well? It seems like that would be obvious, I mean you can buy like 4 TB external SSD on the cheap really cheap like for 110 bucks or something maybe even as low as 80 or 90 or you look for a sale and whatever your favorite have them installed and if you move off temporarilythe older stuff on the PlayStation I can put PS4 games on and play them from that external SMP I don’t wanna do that. I would do that on an Xbox can’t that’s another epic fail.

Yup. If I didn't build a PC in 2017. I would've picked one up. My lil cousin bought one and hooked his up to a monitor + had a keyboard / mouse. Ngl I was low key jelly due to the minimalistic setup.

ye but looks bad when you really check the X game version and the S Game version. The game itself look more like Mid Settings then High Settings. Thats a big reason for me to not buy some S now and wait on a good sale on X.

Sorry if you mention it in the video but the cover art is wrong. The 2tb series x is not larger than the rest. It’s floating up higher in the video but it’s actually the same shell as the original with the optical drive. Plus I’m pretty sure the those new ones are replacements and there’s only really going to be 3 to choose from this holiday.

I got my son the Series S for 2 main reasons. He's heading off to college next month so optimizing space is essential. & It's just easier to manage and travel with. Plus, it's an Xbox. It's just an awesome console. He just wants to play and enjoy the game. He's not pixel peeping and checking the frame rates.

Series X all the way. It has a disc drive, which means cheaper games, and a larger library of BC titles being playable. I can't see myself ever buying a Digital only console.
