With faithfulness to the lore, we were well beyond that by the end of season 1. I can only see this as 'inspired' by/bad fan fiction. Whether this can be an ok fantasy show, well we may be beyond that point also.

As a fan of LOTR movies I've been enjoying the extended lore offered by the show. Sure I see the woke shit, but I am willing to look past it as this is the only LOTR content we have and I love hobbits and elves.

The politics aside, where it just comes across as lazy and therefore distracting, that is also what I see with the elves/hobbits, but interesting you're enjoying specifically their narratives. While I may be merciless in poking fun, I'm thankful for differences in opinion. The world would be a boring place if we all thought and liked the same things.
