Listened to this song the entire summer of 1984 here in Massachusetts. Went on a date with a girl from Melbourne and she put this tape in my tape player and it got stuck. Lost the tape and the girl by summers end but never forgot either. Been searching for over 30 years for this song. So glad to have found it here and on Amazon a year or so ago. It is everything I remember, and brings me right back. My son, who is now the same age I was then is spending a semester abroad in Sydney. He just landed a few hours ago. It brought me here. Thanks Riptides, you still rock.

The Riptides came to Sydney from Brisbane around 1978 and blazed a trail with their unique take on power-pop, garage rock and 60's surf-rock. Heaps of amazing shows with other bands such as The Sunnyboys, The Go-Betweens, Surfside 6, The Most, The Things and other bands of the times.

Saw them well over 70 times. First time in Chequers around 1980 and the last time just a handful of years ago at the Enmore theatre. Played a lot with bands like The Singles and Teeny Weenys. Great days. And also great venues like the Sydney Trade Union Club and the Paddington Green. Most of which are knocked down and residential units now. It's a pity

This song takes me back to a wonderful time of my life when triple z joint efforts were the place to go to see great local and international bands,I remember the night when the crowd was 5000+ a record and the sprung dance floor was bouncing 6inches in the centre, a couple of joints before we went in and everyone was happy to be there, no ice, no violence just normal not like now, life was simple then, wish it was these days.
