Halo was the hardest pill to swallow, I'm done trying to pretend it's still alive. I grew up on Halo, from CE on the original Xbox to Reach on the 360. There is another game series that just sucked to know is kinda gone is Medial of Honor, awesome games.

I'll never forgive Nintendo what they did to Zelda. Making it open world, non-linear, getting rid of traditional dungeons, and making us able to solve puzzles any way we want... you know instead of making the effort to come up with clever puzzles with only one solution.

22:12 no they didn't. Frank O'Connor deliberately went out of his way to retcon the Forerunner's origins. Halo 4, while a good story, does not fit the way the Bungie games portrayed Spartans. Then Halo 5 strayed entirely from what made Halo what it is and Infinite is a joke. And don't get me started on MCC. It bugs me when people say 343 did a good job when all they've done is take shortcuts and be insanely lazy and retcon plot holes they can't be bothered to fix lol Also fun fact: 343 is made up of Microsoft employees so there's that too

Although most of what you said is true: former bungee halo reach and halo ODST were games wanted to make it and were actually happy to make. Secondly, when I hit the halo 4 and halo 5 I like the fifth game more because of the thing you mentioned in the beginning: I look five with a lot of amazing dialogue in game while you played that don’t pull you away into cutscenes. I hadn’t read any other books, but the game dialogues would have to explain the story to me mostly. as for Halo Infinite about, I really love that game. gameplay why is it my second favorite after Halo: Combat Evolved.

P.s., you mentioned “algorithm gods” at the end. I just wanna say that I feel there’s a darker reality behind people sometimes being hesitant to refer to the Omnipotent Creator as “God”, instead often using terms like “life”, “the universe”, “the force”, “energy”, whether joking or not. And the reality is that people are literally traumatized by Christianity. Christianity has caused people to think that God is some sort of a old man sitting in the cloud… which is a horrific depiction of our creator. Allah (S.W.T.) does not and CANNOT look like a man…or any biological creature! Allah doesn’t have a gender. He has no offspring. He CREATED the laws of physics. Allah (S.W.T.) is not bound by the space-time continuum as we know it. He does not resemble His creation. This is why people will use the term “universe”. Because using the term “God” brings the distasteful imagery of Santa on the cloud. Was 3 when i first played halo ce in 03. Been the only game ive played as a religion my whole life, every xbox and disc. Not ashamed to say i can tell you the entire lore and story of by heart as a tribute to how much i love it. At least my interpretation of it; humans are forerunner and i know it was cut but id rather believe that. Does Halo feel dead? Yes, for a decade now. Can it respawn? Abso-effing-lutly.

I was at least 5 and Halo kick started my love for video games. Halo was the only m rated game I was allowed to play until I was a teenager. I remember having nightmarish about the Flood for years. All the memories I made in Halo Reach with my irl best friend and online friends I made. I'll never forgive 343 for ruining what, basically amounts to my childhood.

In my personal opinion, Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2 was where the franchise peaked. Not Battlefield 3 or the divisive Battlefield 5. The series I think died when DICE handed the reigns of the franchise to the defunct Visceral Games with the release of the sad cop drama Battlefield: Hardline. After that toilet fire, they made the horrific Battlefield 2042 which was broken right out of the gate. And just was fun to begin with….. where the Battlefield franchise goes after this mess is anyone’s guess.

Not necessarily true, one of the grand fails of 343 is overshooting their goals. They created an interesting concept with the Didact in halo 4 but failed to capitalize on it by ending it with a QTE boss ‘battle’, then completely forgot about him in Halo 5 and killed him off in a comic, then released Halo Infinite to much fanfare with a decent campaign, a uh decent story, and an extremely good multiplayer that lacked all the features we liked from previous games that they included in all those games. Truthfully all they had to do is make a game with all the features of the previous games that captured the simplicity of the old games multiplayer and didn’t course correct for the third time.

I think you are misinterpreting what I meant by that. I’m saying even with nostalgia glasses on (meaning our love for the original titles), playing the new games is not an enjoyable experience. I haven't played any AC game after Rogue. It became shit, when they took away the counters and chained kills and went the way of Dark Souls games. Just circle around and around, HOPING you time your one hit correctly and not becoming bacon. Well, that's not an AC game anymore, it's a dark souls game. I've had high hopes for AC Shadows, because it involves a ninja, the true assassins. And they went and put a 2 meter tall ape in it as the main protagonist, for political reasons, as Ubisoft admitted. The game should have been named Ninja's Creed from the very beginning, because ninjas were taken from the street, orphans, to be trained to the ultimate assassin. And they would steal, rape, kill, whatever gets the job done, no real creed to speak of, except their goal. Samurais though, did have a creed, the bushido, be honorable, do the right thing always, etc, well, that's NOT assassin's creed, that's the goody 2 shoes creed. The thing about the original AC game, was that you were actually getting assassination missions. It was thrown out the window from the next game and beyond. After AC 3, we stopped seeing the A shaped sign too.

@engiturtle65 Halo CE is not terrible, you could certainly argue against the checkpoints and balance to some degree, but it’s not terrible in any way. I say this not as some oldhead who started with CE, but as someone whose second Halo game was Halo 4. I think Halo 4 tries too hard to be COD, the sound design is awful for the guns, the enemy designs are completely wrong compared to the rest of the series, and the ending(knowing how the story continued) was just disappointing. Infinite launched with almost none of the features of Halo 5, which itself launched with almost none of the features of 4. You lost almost all customization except through spending real money. Also, yes, it’s a F2P game, they have to make money, but 343 chose to make it that way and critiquing the consequences of that decision is completely warranted. They refuse to actually develop new things for the game, and basically just lean on the community for anything they add these days. One of the few things I enjoyed of Infinite was the campaign, and even that was abandoned in favor of live service store slop. Look, I’m not here to say everything 343/Halo Studios creates is awful, because that’s way too sweeping of a statement and patently false. I will say though that the Bungie games generally just feel more cohesive and fun to play, while 343’s games suffer from building another floor onto a completed house. There was nothing left to add to Halo, but Microsoft made them build on anyways.

@ Halo 4 WAS like COD though, it’s the game that tried to introduce loadouts and made sprinting just an innate part of the movement. I’m not saying it abandoned everything that made Halo Halo, but it’s hard to say that Halo 4 wasn’t at least attempting to appeal to a mode “modern” audience by introducing things found in other shooters of the time. I never once said that Bungie was untouchable and 343 was the devil, I’m just saying that Bungie generally made more polished, more enjoyable, and more cohesive games than 343 has. As I also mentioned in my original comment, I think this is just because they had a really bad base to build off of in the form of a completed story. If 343 had been told to build a new spinoff story or something, I’m sure they could’ve made better games(at least on the campaign side of things). Also, I think it’s hard to deny that the design direction, regardless of mechanics, that 343 took 4 and 5 in alienated a LOT of older Halo fans and I’m sure that didn’t help them either.

@Ssenys that's just wrong golden eye came out before halo and sole well smash and soo many other 4player coop games came out no reason halo was so good at its time.and still is good now is literally cause it revolutionized consoles FPS every console FPS uses features halo did first aim assist and bullet magnetism being the 2 big ones not to mention the areas you would fight in halo 1 was massive compared to any shooter before it with the exception of some pc fps of that era
