You know what really pisses me off about show cancellation is that a lot of people are complaining about how Gravity Falls ending after two seasons just like Wonder since they both ended around the same time but one is more popular than the other, a lot of people are going crazy about reviving the series since the show ended. And it make me mad cuz Gravity Falls, as much as I hate to see it go, it was not canceled by the network, Alex told Disney that he wanted to end the show after two seasons, while Wonder actually was canceled by the network cuz they didn’t care about the show, Craig wanted a third season to go in more depth with the characters by got denied. And it doesn’t make since of making fanart and petitions to a show that ended fairly and was the creator’s decision, instead to a show that creator and crew wanted to continue but was unfairly canceled by neglection of the network😒😒😠😠

I will admit, I was a reluctant viewer of this show, at first. The first episode, I did find Wander more annoying than loveable. But the more I watched it, the more I saw in Wander the kind of person I want to be. To me, Wander is the epitome of Neutral Good: kind to a fault, willing to help everyone smile because he knows what it's like to be vulnerable. It's demonstrated that his pacifism isn't always the only answer, but neither is Silvia's more rough and heavy handed method. What got me to give this show a second chance was seeing friends sing "I'm the Bad Guy" on Kareoke at an Anime convention. And after watching more of the show, I was hooked. It's such a funny, heartwarming, creative and at times subversive show that it's almost impossible not to love. It deserved so much more than the two seasons it got.

I gave the show a chance when I saw Hater, solely because his personality, and his obvious vulnerability to stupid shenanigans, made me want to see more of him, and I didn't care if he failed or succeeded in the long run because he was entertaining... to me Wander was just a side-dish, while Hater was the main course for my entertainment

I saw a lot of people that think Wander was an annoying character. Even in this comment section, I see people saying that Wander was annoying. I love Wander. I love every part of him. He's funny, he's adorable, he's altruistic, he's positive. I understand that people generally don't like characters that are without conflict. We tend to relate to people that are more down to earth. But personally, there is nothing I like more than a being that is perfect. The Superman archetype. Someone that is flawless, and inspires others to be better. They don't have to make tough choices. They don't doubt themselves. They always know what to do, and they are always willing to help. Wander doesn't know the meaning of conflict. Maybe its not relatable, but it doesn't always need to be. I think its pretty sad if you can't appreciate such a benevolent force for good. If you don't want to be friends with the happiest being in the galaxy, there must be something wrong with you.

Heck more often than not that "perfection" proves to be a fault in and of itself and leads to those characters having turmoil over doubt and failing to meet expectations which goes full circle towards being things that imperfect folks (like basically all humans) can in fact relate with. Even a so-called "perfect" character can be compelling if they're used right. I feel they wouldn't have bothered writing Lord Hater the way they did if they weren't concious of this type of dynamic.

"The Void" comes to mind, with Wander being rather possessive and obsessed with the opportunities given to him, and actually being called out on it. I read once that the planned season 3 was supposed to be a test for Wander similar to how season 2 was a test for Hater, so I wonder how Wander's character flaws would have been addressed there. I do like the fan theory that Wander used to be rather villainous (or at least not as good) himself, before he was reformed by someone else.

@@echos409 There have been multiple videos on the subject but I'll try to keep it brief: The fact that no one working on the project was a writer contributed heavily to the stop and start pacing of every storyline, the fact that no amount of character growth ever stuck, and the worldbuilding being so lackluster as to not even have a name for the home planet of the series one and only non-earthling species. Combined with the fact that characters did not have reference sheets causing every single character to break model on a regular basis, throwing any consistency of character design out the window, basically made the show unwatchable. And that's all BEFORE accounting for some of the characterizations that do stick around for the characters, or the unfortunate implications of what fusion is supposed to represent by the creator's own words and the fact that there are such things as "forced fusion" and two CHILD CHARACTERS engaging in the practice. So yeah, overall, I'd say that the statement in this video implying that Steven Universe had paid any attention to the story as a building block of its success highly laughable.

Wander Over Yonder is my favourite Disney show, even beating out Kim Possible, Gravity Falls, SvtFoE and Phineas and Ferb. Despite its flaws, it is a beautiful show that I enjoyed very much, and I really hope that we will get whatever was planned for the third season one day in some form or other.

Marinet and Adrian: We have a tangled love affair that makes up 60% of the whole series. We already have 3 seasons, and there will be even more! Wander: We have a lot of characters, storylines, and we know the backstory of only one of the four main characters. For the whole series we had only one love line, which broke at the end. And... we weren't extended even until the third season. :(

I have a theory: what if Wonder was a primordial villain, someone who managed to be the ruler of everything, a tyrant with an iron fist whose conquers made him all the more miserable, but one day he discovers the joy of helping others. So he chose a more friendly form in order to help others in need without scaring them; that would explain why he was so positive and belived in everybody: if he can become a good guy, then anyone can. I mean, we know Wander was old af and was known by a lot of names, so this can be plausible.

It helps demonstrate Wander's flaws as well by that even he isn't perfect. Honestly I can't think of an episode that's downright bad. Maybe some aren't as great as other's but not terrible.

Even though WoY has a lot of flaws, there's something so special about it (I'm not talking about positive messages in every single episode, not even its morality), and that's how honest it is. Everyone is allowed to be who they are without shame (even a murderer), and others will even cheer for them like they did with Hater. I've never seen this amount of love, equality and acceptance in a cartoon. It means everything to me and has taught me all I need to know about life. Even though we may be different on the outside, that doesn't mean we shouldn't be there for each other. I still get goosebumps every time I think about this message I've only seen in the Lion King 2, except it wasn't as deep as WoY. Such a gem will never happen again ♡♡♡ The fact that Wander never stopped looking for even the tiniest bit of love in everyone is the one thing I'll always remember about this show. Even with only 2 seasons, it managed to portray friendship as something we all have in common, regardless of who we are or what we do. I'll say it again. Damn, what a show. What a beautiful freaking show.

Dude I absolutely agree. Just finished the last episode a bit ago and felt downright crushed when I realized there wasn't another season to watch after that cliffhanger. It's such a simple show but by God does it always have a good message to send. No matter how hard things would get or how annoyed I would be that Wander wouldn't seem to just accept reality, in the end he proved that with kindness you can make that reality better. He'd still prove that just being nice to others through it all not only takes a lot more strength than most people have, but he proved that it really is the best way to be. I think the biggest reason this show seems to have gotten so popular after the fact is quite simply Lord Dominator. She wasn't in the first Season and she didn't really blow up on the internet and get attention until the show was almost done. I think it's kind of the point that the characters adhere to their tropes. Wander is uncomfortably friendly and dangerously chaotic, Sylvia is stubborn to the point of being dense but still grounded in reality, Hater is the all-powerful but somehow still incompetent villain, Peepers is the long-suffering lackey that just wants to do well at his job and make sure his boss succeeds. Dominator is a bit of an outlier in that she's a psychopath that enjoys destruction and causing suffering to an uncomfortable degree, but she's also an antisocial teenager that doesn't really know how to deal with people, so she's also a trope. The show sticks to its guns and only dabbles in character development; Wander doesn't become less optimistic, Sylvia doesn't become less confrontational, Hater doesn't get his priorities straight, Peepers is still frustrated by things outside his control, and Dominator is still just straight up evil. Regardless, Hater and Dominator really make the show for me. Hater embodies every older viewer of a kid's show who wants to root for the villain and see some actual stakes be brought to the table, and Dominator is the villain that _brings_ those stakes to the table while still remaining emotionally relatable and defeatable. Also there's the fact they're somewhat human in appearance, and while that breeds certain deviant nonsense(you know what I'm talking about...), it also makes them a natural focus.

Plus it shows how broken and stubborn Wander can be and how much he means to Sylvia, and that Wander is kind of vulnerable in some ways. And, as a person who has had psychosis before, thats quite a fun episode. It had some neat animations. Speaking of neat animation and the mind, The Void was also pretty good but, also reveals a character flaw in some ways which does bum it out some. But makes sense. And it turned out fun anyways, but it would've been nice if Sylvia found a way to enjoy it also before they had to go.

Wander Over Yonder is like a nice breathe of fresh, cool, crisp autumn air. Unlike other shows on Disney XD, which were filled with enticing story line and intense plot with a lot of action (i.e, Gravity Falls, Ben 10, Detentionaire, etc.,), Wonder Over Yonder gave us a break from all the potential twists and overwhelming amount of plot to keep track of. Although some episodes were quite repetitive and when it comes to writing dialogue, it's not the easiest thing to do with at least the teeniest bit of repetition in it. Even if the show had a lot more repeated scenes and random events that don't corroborate in the slightest, it was still a really fun show. If it weren't cancelled (*cough**cough*another reason to dislike disney*cough*)and they crew spent a bit more time on it fixing out all the kinks and mistakes in it, it would've been something everyone would've loved. But we were left on some stupid cliffhanger and we'll never find out about how the show got better. This is all personal opinion I grew up on DisneyXD, CN and NIckelodeon so I have strong feelings on it.

After watching this video, I realized something about Wander. Yes, he’s overly sweet, caring, nice, and said to be a nice guy, but my favorite part about his character is the potential he has to be NOT nice. As brought up by Alpha Jay, what if somebody didn’t want to be Wander’s friend? His relationship with Lord Hater is amusing and supposed to be charming, but if you really think about it, it’s rather disturbing. In the episodes “the box” and “the ball (?)” (the one with the giant dog) Wander is actively shown outside of his usual happy-go-lacky manner into something like mania and even insanity. The idea that he wants to befriend everyone and help so badly he would FORCE things his way is fascinating and really interesting. Just think how cooler an episode with Wander would be if he went straight villain by trying to make everybody his “friends” and trying to “help” but really, he’s manipulating everything, and Sylvia can’t stop him. Honestly, I’d kill to see a villain Wander episode. It would be so good,

I feel like whilst this show did have its lacking areas, it's definitely a feel-good show which will either really appeal to you or not depending on your mileage for the humour. and whether or not you enjoy watching something mindlessly or are coming to it expecting more ot his previous work. Additionally, regarding Wander coming off occasionally aggressive- I don't think it matters if you find a main character personally likable, I feel that's looking in the wrong place. They only need to be entertaining, or interesting to watch...which is defintiely a matter of taste with Wander. I really loves this show, though!

I love the show! I just finished a marathon of the show as I have watched a couple episodes when I was younger but barely remember it. But I love the character designs as they are so different, and I love the wacky animation. the space theme is cool and I also watch Steven universe but it is a completely different feel. There are so many heartwarming scenes and questions we don't have answers to because Disney pulled the plug. Like the entire backstory on wander! Where did he come from? What alien is he? Why did he change his name? It's also hinted that he has quite a sad backstory and I would like to know more about him. Probably my favourite cartoon because it feels the most like a cartoon. You barely see this kind of animation these days. Good things about animation is that you can create scenes and characters that wouldn't really work in real life, but this show also gives wacky fluid movements that you wouldn't really see in real life. I really hope, even though I very much doubt it, one time in the future wander over yonder will return for the final season it deserves

I feel like he was just salty at the ending, and blamed Sylvia for not letting him open the box in the first place, despite it clearly implying he would go loony. But, like, people *could* want a box just to have something to put into it so that doesn't really make sense, so I assumed its related to a possible overeliance on his hat. Imagine his hat giving him *nothing* when he needs something. Naw he would probably put a positive spin on something like that anyway.

One thing I sorta see with the ending with Dominator... She doesn't flat out refuse the friendship like she has the whole season. She let herself be vulnerable, and that wall she's kept up is crumbling. She isn't s total friend yet, but she's taken the first step, whether she likes it or not.

The fact this show got cancelled so TTG PPG And Pickle and Bleh could live, Is disgusting. This show was incredible. Good thing is we’re slowly getting better reboots, if the Ducktales reboot of 2017 , DC Superhero Girls Reboot of 2019 has taught me anything.

Well, they like to call themselves mature cuz ooo~ meditation and depression, and lesbians. In reality it argued for teen cult mentality exploitation by spiritual pseudo-role models. And probably enabled behavior that leads to abuse. Like, what chatroom with teens and stockholm syndrome sounds healthy to you. Every chatroom like that has had abusers. Every single one.

Tbh me and my little brother never liked Steven universe, idk why but we hated it, so we grew up watching shows on Disney XD, Nickelodeon and some shows on cartoon network.

I’d argue SU did some great things for the animation industry, and accomplished some pretty mature themes that shows for “kids” don’t usually do. However, the problem is that: 1. The show has terribly evil characters like white diamond who are essentially space nazis that own slaves, IMMEDIATELY turn good. Like in 5 minutes they are good guys. What?? 2. The fanbase is god-awful. Very sensitive and toxic. I’m not surprised though and it’s honestly not Rebecca or anyone who made the show’s fault. It’s just some of the ppl the show attracted. So yeah, when I watched su there were times when I was like “wow this is incredible for a kids show” and times when I was like “...wait what the fuck is this”.
