The Mo Show Podcast | Saudi Arabia’s leading English podcast.
Zaid Al-Tamimi is an expert on the history of media, communications and geopolitics. On this episode, he discusses the rise and fall of Western media and the changing global narratives and spheres of influence. He explains how media has the power to shape public discourse, sway public opinion, and influence positive and negative change.
The current state of American media highlights the country’s deep political and moral divisions. Drawing upon the work of Edward Bernays, the father of public relations and propaganda, Zaid illustrates how media has been used to manipulate public opinion for decades. As Saudi Arabia undergoes rapid modernization, media is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s narrative.

Great dialogue. I would augmentise the "natural selection" importance in the traditional western mass media market. Contrary to that I see a new wave of equality driven narratives and I find it fascinating, especially when they are framed by faith dogmas.

A fascinating dialogue between such bright minds. I would love to see a followup episode which includes media minds from other nations (e.g. China, America, India, South America, etc) all conversing about the tectonic plate-shifting world we're in, under Mo's outstanding line of questioning.

Thanks, Mo I suggest that we bring a Western Muslim who studied at an Islamic university in Saudi Arabia to explain to the Western world the red lines in everything related to our family, social, moral, financial, political, etc. laws. We are tired of watching many Westerners talk to us about human rights while they contradict our understanding of human rights. They talk to us about social justice and we see them living in social problems much more than ours. They talk about justice and security while they suffer from many security and justice problems. This channel is an opportunity to understand our social, legal, judicial, tribal, moral, human rights and economic reality away from the ideology of Western viewers’ minds from the ideology of the owners of Western channels with everything that is wrong and does not fit with our understanding of social justice or is wrong in understanding our reality Among the suggested names: Dr.Tahir Wyatt, Joe Bradford Abdullah Smith , Ustaadh Muhammad Tim Humble, Abdur Raheem McCarthy. The questions for the guests are all accusations and lies about what is published in the Western media about Saudi Arabia, and your guests explain the Western sheikhs our Islamic concept and the wisdom of these laws and the concept of justice and rights between the spouses, the family and society, the economy, morals, the political system, the concept of social justice, etc..

Saudi Arabia after 9/11 made headlines because its citizens were involved with 15 out of the 19 hijackers being Saudis. Despite this, the US covered up the Saudi involvement in 9/11. So this idea that somehow the US confronted Saudi Arabia as this "core nation" of the Islamic world as you said in the podcast is ridiculous and bears no basis on what actually happened. The US invaded Iraq under false pretexts of involvement on 9/11. If anything, Saudi Arabia is protected by the US and it has not faced any consequences of its actions in the region at all. The US sells weapons to Saudi Arabia til this day.

Well your argument is pretty weak and you’re only believing in it cuz it makes you feel better and it justifies your hatred and once you hate something you don’t want to believe it is big. Yes it’s a fact Saudi is not like what it should be, but it is wayyy far above what you are trying to make it seem
