Also everyone, to clarify a few things I should’ve elaborated on: Vanilla Machine in S2 was like good for a few weeks lol It honestly did not last that long. Kensa Machine was truly the first time that Machine experienced some glory. But S3 is really when it got on the podium & was one of the top 3 weapons. Also, Fizzy bomb was also nerfed in 1.2, very likely because of machine. Basically it gave it white ink frames making it harder to spam. Sorry for missing this important element in the story! Lastly, I also said trizooka instead of ink zooka for S1 Neo kit for machine. Muscle memory of saying trizooka so many times slipped! lol

I remember the days of splatoon 2 when kensa machine was a respected meta weapon not just for being a non-shooter in a shooter dominant meta, but for also being meta despite having splashdown, a status it shared with dark tetras. But when you take away its only weakness in splashdown, and replace it with a high tier special, that's when things start to change.

I think machine is in a great spot currently imo. The weapon before sizzle season was just too unhealthy overall and was very overused and frustrating to play against. I can agree some of the nerfs were unfair to the machine users but I think it’s more of an issue of them changing a the wrong things. Such as then never touching the absurd hitbox once and instead making it very ink hungry and having a high special cost. I do think the fire rate change was incredibly valid though, it never had any openings during its firing and it was really toxic to fight

They wouldve fixed the hit box in many ways instead of the nerfing certain weapons or have bad stage design were certain weapons can dominate it. The splash did get nerfed but other stronger weapons like stamper which are really good at fighting it also got nerf.but however I can still see Stamper in a comfort spot so it will not be dead.(depends on your gear build up.) While for Machine. I think it can still prevail.

Sloshing machine gets like almost no booyah bombs unless user will just sit back there and paint. It's because of: - The only 220 weapon - Pretty bad paint - Very bad ink efficiency (can be negated with lde) - Dies often (even more after this patch)

If a weapon has most of the benefits of a slosher, while also acting somewhat like a blaster and being better at doing a blasters job than ant of the blasters, then something needs to change.

ive been using and maining machine since splatoon one. they could nerf this thing to 240p and explosher swing time and i'd still be using it. RIDE OR DIE i play midline in my team, so i would love a kit that would play off of that. i still play it in tower on the narrower maps, but i would play entire tournaments on sloshmo prior. ive floated to wiper deco/novas/slosher for our comps the majority of the time instead with this patch. s1 neo kit would be epic, or a kit with chumps to imitate the bomb rushes. honestly, i'd be happy with a lot of specials! whatever happens, ive been with this funny washer for 8 years, and its in my DNA. i love u sloshmo

When I got splatoon 3 (for Christmas) I was immediately attracted to the Sloshing Machine. The kit was amazing and the fast swings really helped me to get it 4 star, however because of the nerfs I find it harder and harder to use (especially the recently nerf, nerfing it’s swings) I already found it hard to get special and it’s harder now with slower swings and it having more ink consumption making me run the exact same gear most of the time (Just Ink Saver main, which is most of my clothing now) I wish the swings would go back to normal, but I’ll still be using the machine but I have to get used to it again

First, welcome to the comp scene Levi! Second, I definitely know what you mean on the swings :/. I feel like muscle memory plays a big role because I’m still swinging like if it was before 4.0.

I think Machine Nerf is a healthy move for more weapons to shine. Cuz sometimes when it came to fighting machine it felt like if u got hit by a machine u could damm near never get away but now u can and u can contest it. It’s still a great weapon but probably bottom of top tier or high tier.

As any meta evolves, people gain experience fighting against the biggest threats. With machine being such a threat for such a long time, its gonna be hard for machine mains to adjust to all the nerfs since everyone else is accustomed to fighting a stronger version of it. It's unfortunate for machine mains but i think it will ultimately leave the meta in a healthier state.

Biggest thing i took away from this vid is that machine was in S1, i had no clue LMAO But fr great vid and im glad machine is getting less use cuz it felt like it didn’t allow other weapons thrive, the game feels fresh again with everyone still seeing what works best

i do wonder whether they'll ever undo or compensate for the nerfs to machine later on. tri-slosher got hit hard in early splat 2 of course, but eventually it got its damage back and even a fire speed buff so rose in usage again. maybe it'll go back down to 210p for special at some point bc the fire speed nerf makes it even harder to paint for booyah, and it's already the most expensive special in the game.

I have come here to pay my respects to Sloshing Machine. I played it for like two weeks in 3 and a few months in 2. I never thought of it as one of my favourites, but I definitely thought it was the coolest of the buckets. I never liked Splashdown in 2, so I was definitely excited when it got a good kit in 3. After a month or so, it was clear that the weapon was top 3. I usually don’t like top tiers that much, but I was really proud of it for pushing the non-shooter meta further. In turn, I always hoped that Sloshing Machine would usurp the throne from Splash-o-matic. In 1.2.0, I was very disappointed to see that the developers were picking on Sloshing Machine before they would even touch Splash-o-matic. A few light nerfs later, and Sloshing Machine was still doing fine. Then, that fated day came. On May 31st, 2023, the weapon would take the biggest blow so far. It’s fire rate was nerfed by 5-10 frames. Ever since that day, it has felt off, and spiritually weighed down. I really had faith in this weapon leading the meta into a brighter future, but it unfortunately did not make it. Not all was bad that day. Splatana Stamper mains were finally put in their place with an ink efficiency nerf so bad you would think 3.2.0 of Splatoon 2 was a joke, and make Stamper mains feel the same agony us Dualie Squelcher mains felt all those years ago. No more quick respawn builds for them, am I right? Back on topic. It just wanted to say I’m really sorry for what happened to Sloshing Machine, and I hope that at least this patch will pave the way for not only new weapons getting spotlight in the meta, but for Splash-o-magic to get nerfed off the face of the Earth. 6:49 Tbh splashdown wasn’t that bad because of it’s ginormous low damage radius (I think it was about 40) but it combined with burst bomb was like the strongest kit ever

Machine got blessed like splash by that I mean it got a god kit, fizzy is the perfect sub for it by helping it's paint and dps and a very good combo weapon and booyah bomb helped its aggression and its just a good special, it was very hard to make a better kit then this and nintendo nerfing its weakness which is its fire rate just made it fall so hard because its slower, paints less, kills slower, less special output and just made it feel so bad to play Tldr: machines weakness got worse and making it feel worse to play

Man, I wish I got into Splatoon 3 earlier. You mean to say the Sloshing Machine was once “the best weapon in the game”? Sounds absolutely insane as someone who mained it in Splatoon 2, and now it seems to be about as equally “pretty good” today. I mained Sloshing Machine Neo from the moment I unlocked it in Splatoon 2, until Kensa Machine came out. Now i’m getting back into Splatoon, i’m not sure if I should use it in Splatoon 3.

I personally enjoyed using the Sloshing Machine before the nerfs. And in Tower Control too. Haven't tested after the nerfs. Playing a lot of Wiper Deco and some S-Blast 92. But the reasoning for the nerf that they gave is honestly a legit reason. They had a vision for the weapon and expected the nerf to help the weapon fall in line with the vision they had for it. I am not mad at the changes when they had solid reasoning.

I used kensa machine a lot in 2. Not as a main weapon but more as a secondary one and learned how great fizzy was on it. When I saw the kit it got in S3 I thought the devs were on LSD or something ahaha... tbh nintendo was a bit hard on machine when nerfing it in this game but I think it's understandable since it is a pretty obnoxious weapon to fight against and already was a great main weapon with one of the best subs and one of the best specials on it too. Machine probably won't die though. Ttek and neo splash make vslosher rare and the new tetras and stamper invalidate slosher deco. On top of that machine is still a way better weapon with a way better kit than all of the blasters with exception to rapid deco (which likely won't ever be used over machine outside of niche map-mode combinations)

I mained Sloshing machine since splatoon 1. and it was one of my favourite weapons. but ever since the splatoon 3, i couldn't find what weapon to use anymore. i used to run loads of quick respawn on it but now i run ink recovery and main saver. until i realized the sword exsits.(wiper) And now i get to run the amount of quick respawn i used to have on sloshing machine. i still like machine. but now i use wiper i bit more.

I think Machine is in a good spot right now, delayed shots tones down aggressive plays and makes you shoot carefully (NO SPAMMING). I had my fun time with it, but I do feel it was too strong (overly aggressive imo). I will now switch over to Slosher.

The thing that made slashing machine amazing was its kit, so the Devs should change indirectly nerf the Sloshing Machine by changing Fizzy Bomb's ink cost from 60% to 65% and change Booyah Bomb duration from 9 seconds to 7 seconds and slightly reduce the Booyah Bomb armor.

Did you mention that Booyah and fizzy bobmb got nerfed? I'm not a fan of the meta using machine as the scapegoat for weak subs, specials, and maps that are literal hallways. Machine has been on the chopping block since release.
