I found out that early oil does wonders against spider aggro, since they attack from same corner oiled ground turns into a shooting range for snipers and spiders never get a chance to level up Rhino facing a flank is also a great move, 200 rhino against 200+100 spider+chaff holds the attack perfectly, making opponent to either overinvest with balls and lose momentum, or just forget about flank

Tarantula/Farseer/Mustang seems like a combo that checks a lot of boxes.

The problem was that you never went balls the second he stwrted to flank you with spiders.

The way I see it, the tarantulas were tanking for the farseer carry, and a melter with range and heal kills them all. I know that's the noob take, but I maintain that high-level players get stubborn and have a blind spot for popular units!

nice video as always idk if you'd be interested in this but a video idea: pick a few of your replays from your videos where commenters had ideas that you think could flip a scene and then show the original as well as one where you take over and implement the ideas from the comments, to see if those works and perhaps disect your thoughts on those?

Tarantulas are very good with ranks. If you cannot level them up, mass spidermine is the only way to make them useful, or you might as well sell them off.

Feels like you needed melters or forts here. Your DPS was too spread out/too low impulse, so they just kept healing a ton of it throughout the match. Tarantula have no AA, and are chaff clear. Just pick up some solid single target DPS. Honestly, it feels like even sabertooth would have performed very well here. High HP, excellent single target DPS, and if you're behind it has an easy/cheap doubleshot tech to pick up.

Honestly? I would've just dropped more storms. He had nothing fast and no air forces to speak of; with the ranges he was engaging you, a couple more storms would've just rained hellfire on those spiders, especially with overload. Stagger them a bit to help cover each other from the chaff and let the skies burn.

I beat a higher mmr with tarantulas in my last game. The key is getting the range upgrade, then they stop being useless.

I might be wrong here, I am way below Stoney's MMR, as mine is only 1100 with 80k combat power. But I believe Scorpion acid can easily deal with something like that as long as chaff is clear. Or these days, I’ve found that crawler acid works really well with spread.

acid is never the solution for anything, scorpion is also subpar unit in general, melters or hackers would have been a checkmate instead as he won the chaf war while having multiple uselesss units like wasp/marksmen/sledgies who require investments and xp.

In my opinion it is Vulcan meta - i see it in 80% of my games and they are really bad balanced - playing against it really not fun at all.
