When RM & Suga got dissed by those other rappers and critics apparently Bang PD was fuming. He sent them to do a radio show about hip hop and then a 19 & 20 year old get ambushed and ganged up on by grown men. Well, the only positive is that we got some great music and lyrics from our boys. And JK has SURPASSED his 'small but big goal'. He has one of the best voices in the world!💜

Glad you watched another episode! I’m glad she showed some more context around the song N.O., it is still very powerful on it’s own, but having some knowledge of the situation in Korea and what influenced BTS to put out this kind if message does make it that much more impactful. Looking forward to your thoughts on the full song whenever you get a chance to! JK telling us he hopes to become such a singer that people can proudly, without hesitating, say “I’m a fan of BTS” really hits me. Firstly, I’ve never seen any artist talk like that but BTS have repeated that sentiment a few times saying “we don’t want to be an embarrassment to our fans”. (Similarly, many ARMY also want to make BTS proud with their actions, charity etc. It’s a very mutual thing!) It’s a sad reality that many people do still think it’s embarrassing to like BTS, even nowadays when they’re objectively the biggest and most popular artist there is, there are comments like “really? You listen to THAT?” by people who have never even given their music a chance. It’s sad and disheartening, and was clearly even a thing back in 2013 since JK was worrying about it.

it's the reason you respect them and it's the reason we respect them too, including their decision to figure out where do they wanna go as a band. Could've been so simple in the eyes of those who dunno them to keep surfing the success wave and keep milking it til the last drop, but they did what most people would never do. They're taking a huge risk getting more hate now than they've ever got before cause now they're extremely popular but decided to do what's best for them as artists and as humans and simply pause, or stop. I am terrified ofc cause I love them and hate to see them struggling but I'm so proud of them for being so honest and coherent since the get-go. They're so brave

There is so many things that they predicted/manifested... JK wants to become a singer who touches peoples hearts--done, Jimin wants to be the first person who comes to mind when people think about a great dancer--done. ...it´ s mindblowing to me how through all their hard work they achieved so much, and I am so glad that there is this footage I hope you will continue with this series, because as great as it is now, the episodes (both the content/story and editing) get exponentially better episode after episode. I cried like 5 times rewatching ep.18 Also please don´t skip the bonus content, there is A LOT there that contributes to the overall experience Greatest underdog story of all time. BTW When Jimin was delivering the letters, the way he very respectfully bowed to RM and Suga made me choke up

Fact is we might have been hooked by their music but it’s their personalities and values that keep us here so strongly. RM took on a huge leadership role at 17. He’s 19 in this video and his grace and talent at manging everything his wisdom etc is unparalleled. He might be a god of destruction but he’s our President and we are so powerful of them, today especially as he’s led them to a meeting in the Oval Office to discuss important issues. JKs voice all of their voices and stories have touched us. I love the series for showing the rise to the top it was a true underdog story with a lot against them but Army was always at their side and they deserve it. Rise of Bangtan is such a damn bop. And NO is another song that is a title track not there talking about sex or relationships but hugely important and taboo topics in Korea and globally relatable. Also they talk about idols but BTS never fit the mold only Jin really fit the typical “idol” looks and they were making songs not about pop lyrics their choreography was harder they weren’t hip hop enough for the underground folks and they are odd ducks personality wise and you’ll see since they weren’t expected to be robots they are goofballs everywhere (but also hard working when needed). Warning all episodes have spoiler songs but all their catalog is amazing. The whole second album is solid.

Jungkook has met and surpassed his goal. He had no idea how many people's lives he's touched and literally saved. I know a few ARMY's with inspirational stories, of how they didn't know what he was singing, but it touched them, and helped them to make it through to another day. He's worked so hard to develop his singing voice, and still continues to this day. He's very special. And he's not even my bias. I know how special each and every one of them is. They all play a pivotal role in the group. You can't have BTS if one is missing. They are a unit. BTS are seven amazing and talented artists.

I always get sad whenever i hear jin say he didnt enjoy doing that (training/everything) befote since i guess thenonly reason he joined bghit was to make his parents proud. Remember the time when he shared a story about his mom not being proud of him. He just wanted to be and prove something. But i know, as time went by, he fulfilled his goals and now he's doing this for himself and for army. 💯♥️

As always, your reactions are incredible. I became army this year, but I consumed all possible content from them, available on the internet, and one of my 5 favorite songs by the group is Attack on Bangtan, for fun and for emphasizing so much their Korean name, which was the target of attacks on era. Thanks for the video, love from Brazil.

Finallyyyyy my eyes are blessed 🤩 It is always so wholesome to watch you react to their offstage content. This just takes us on a memory lane, and make us realise why actually we started stanning BTS. Like there was a clip of that girl saying may be this is all delusion and we don't know where we are going. It proves why BTS was so relevant back in the day, and why they created the pain in people's stomach. They are so relevant today also where people still are close minded and are so judgemental about others. Like stop people, you don't know what the other person is going through. Such people should consider putting themselves in other's shoe, and maybe then it will be easy to not comment or invalidate others. Also Get well soon Thankyou so much for reacting to BTS 💕

These episodes get better and better as they go on, and it tells the story of each phase of their growth, you will see how they slowly evolve into the Bts you see today. It can’t capture everything, but it tells the important and memorable events that happened along the way. The boys back in 2013 are awkward, afraid, insecure and sometimes quite cringey (they can’t even look at their past videos without screaming lol) but they are very very sincere. You will see how they slowly break out of their shells and become more professional and loving of each-other as time spans out

This Bangtan series are heartbreaking. Where they started and where they are now..... Today they will be the stars at the USA White House! But to discuss Asian hate crimes, unfortunately. 😕😔💜 Nevertheless, great stars who started real small and never lost their very humble and down to earth personalities.

speaking of make up and beauty standards while they started with a manly concept i suppose exactly because of pressure to present themselves "correctly", i don't really think they care since long ago about how they are all positioned in this discussion anymore. they've talked several times that they don't like these boundaries; they wear make up without doubting it as an "only female" option; they don't care about gender of the clothes - you'll often see them casually wearing female blouses, jackets etc on some events or just everyday life, Jungkook's clothes is often belongs to the genderless brands; they had photoshoots and performances in unisex style with skirts and dangling earings and gems and pearls and whatever society tends to mark as female thing. they are also more emotionally open, gentle, there's no toxic masculinity in them i'll bring here a quote from the recent Rolling Stones interview: It’s not uncommon for the members of BTS to shed a tear or two while they’re addressing fans onstage. Along with their comfort with makeup and iridescent hair dye, it all plays into their instinctive rejection of rigid conceptions of masculinity. “The labels of what being masculine is, is an outdated concept,” says RM. “It is not our intention to break it down. But if we are making a positive impact, we are very thankful. We live in an age where we shouldn’t have those labels or have those restrictions.” Another interview: “There is this culture where masculinity is defined by certain emotions, characteristics. I’m not fond of these expressions,” Suga tells me. “What does being masculine mean? People’s conditions vary day by day. Sometimes you are in a good condition; sometimes you aren’t. Based on that, you get an idea of your physical health. And that same thing applies mentally. Some days you are in a good state; sometime you’re not. Many pretend to be okay, saying that they are not ‘weak’, as if that would make you a weak person. I don’t think that’s right. People won’t say you’re a weak person if your physical condition is not that good. It should be the same for mental condition as well. Society should be more understanding.”

Yeee!!!! I'm so happy that you keep reacting to these docuseries. I love how ROB is making because it shows BTS growth and hardship but also linked their music and action with the World and Korean situations. So we as a fans can understand why their lyrics and actions are so powerful. I met BTS on 2015 when I was in highschool, and those songs (2013-2014) hit so hard in the reality of students, dreams and future, even during my University time it was a reminder that I have to do it for myself and not to fulfill others' dreams. And of course, JK achieved his goal along with his members, so proud of them.

Yeah this was a hard watch. But since BTS was at the White House today, nothing can bring my spirits down 😂 I totally agree that Jungkook along with the others have achieved their goal and beyond. They are representing their country South Korea, even the continent Asia, youth and more to the whole world. I think proud is an understatement of how I'm feeling. Also, everytime I see that short clip of him and RM being insulted by their "seniors", it still hits because they were so young back then but still, they didn't let it bring them down, instead they took it as a challenge to prove those jerks wrong. So I'm just gonna leave Yoongi's quick speech here, "It's not wrong to be different. Equality begins when we open up and embrace all of our differences." Great reaction as always. By the way, congratz for your 9k subs, I'm sure there will be more. 💜

Just to share with you, our (ARMY) and Bangtan encounter with tht guy continued after that incident. BTS wrote Cypher 2 specifically meant for him. Finally in 2019, he posted an apology (his second apology actually, whc sounded more sincere but we still don't accept it. To us, it's too late). In 2020, he was arrested and jailed for assaulting another rapper. So, we don't call him B- *Free* anymore 🤭

They didn’t do well until 2015, actually. They were more or less always facing worries of disbandment and lack of funding before that, because they really weren’t doing well and Bighit had minimal funds. Let me put it into perspective, Korea have comeback shows on 3-4 different platforms every single week for idols with new songs, which means multiple trophies for 1st places are given out every week, but bts only managed to get their first trophy 2 years after debut with their first successful song “I need you”. In contrast, idols from well known company get their trophies a few weeks after debut, in many instances less than a month

Hey Bryan, sorry im still late with comments. Ive actually almost caught up on your BTS videos - up to Honsool now, but just wanted to come back and leave some comments. I enjoyed watching chapter 3 with you. Yes the radio interview with those rappers is always hard to watch and that's not even the whole thing. As much as it makes me angry to watch it, it also makes me feel proud as I feel it really shows RM and Sugas true character and maturity to be able to handle such a situation so well. It was obviously very painful for them during and after but such a defining moment. Just unbelievable the attitude of those rappers and considering their age compared to BTS at the time. But unfortunately we all know that's just how some people behave no matter their age. The thing that always makes me sad about this episode is the irony in BTS doing the song N.O. (and others songs they've made) talking about going against the system and mindset of South Korean society eg. The mentality to work yourself to the bone 'step on others' to make achievements and then them saying 'well work hard' to ARMY and the audience at broadcasts - as I understand it variations of this like 'work hard' are common statements to say / hear in Korea and I understand it can be an encouraging statement like 'Fighting!'. For BTS in this case saying 'well work hard' it does seem kind of contradictory though and doesn't sit right especially after seeing the interspersed quotes from students and statistics. I mean working hard can be ok, as long as it's reasonable and balanced, and sometimes it's necessary, but you shouldn't have to work too hard and sacrifice too much, but we know BTS has certainly sacrificed a lot. Having said all that this was early in their career and they are older and even wiser now, I just think it's an interesting observation particularly in relation to this whole episode. 💜

Ppl talk about hip being this tough exterior don't know hip hop history. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Heavy D and The Boys. The 80's founders of hip hop were wearing S&M style fits, heavy leather, Heavy D and the Boys did choreography. Ppl who talk like that don't have a long understanding and history of who and where hip hop came from.

Would it be better if I said "Content Warning, rated TV 14 for disturbing language and strobe effects" It's just a word that's been attached to attack certain people, I don't know why it would actually upset anyone. 😕 I personally don't need them, but if someone else does, who am I to judge that? I have no idea what they are going/have been through.
