Here we go! Chapter one of Rise of Bangtan. I loved watching this because it's educational and it allowed me to know more about their background and even their beginnings. Super excited for Chapter two and sorry for the length. I've noticed that I got a lot to say, haha.

Shiki, I think it's important to know that the creator wanted to first explain the basics of the kpop industry in the first episode...BigHit were always kind and treated the boys as humans (as the video explains) and let them create their own music and express their true feelings in their work (as an artist should do) 💜. I wanted to say this bc i know some people got upset about the comparison between BTS and the kpop industry but it's important to know their story of how this "kpop group" became the greatest musicians we all know and love today💜.

Very well said and I'm glad you did. I agree with you 100%. It gave me an insight into things I didn't know they were going through and that's why I have so much respect to BigHit. They treat and nurture them like they should and look where they are today. But the other sides.. certainly are brutal (Outside of BigHit)

It kills me that bc it’s so foreign to us here in the US… that it’s impossible to differentiate who the other idols in the video are and to know they’re from other agencies. It was definitely essential in my opinion for them to explain the difference that the kpop industry is as opposed to the western culture industry out here. It’s not easy to understand and can get a little confusing… but after all the work they put into it.. I’m glad army are out here making this part clear… bc it is the core of bts , Bang pd and why they’ve been able to grow so much as artists over time and that bts is nothing like Kpop… other than the production, intricate and extravagant details in any content… this is the same… but everything else is completely different. Thanks for the heads up!

Jungkook was only just 15 in his log and when they debuted. He says 16 but that is Korean age. And he had already been at Big Hit for over a year before that! Crazy. BTS were given a bit more freedom in their music and lyrics than other groups and when given the choice to rest or practice, they practiced. And it is the same today. I remember seeing them do a run through for a western show. They did a couple and the staff thought that was it. They were surprised when they found out BTS do 8-10 run throughs and they ALWAYS review the playback afterwards. Amazing 🤟💜

That's what stood out as well, they weren't forced but put in the time and effort on their own accord. BigHit did great and so did BTS. Love the partnership. Seems to me like they shock everybody but that's how they've gotten where they are, through dedication and a lot of tenacity.

I love these series!!! Loved your reaction!!! In my opinion they get better and better. Don’t forget about the delete scenes at the end of each chapter! Edit: also I believe they are a year younger then what they say because is Korea ages are different. In Korea people are already one then they are born. So the ages a little different. Also they also had to leave home and rely on each other. Honestly I don’t know how they did it but I am glad they have each other. 2 Edit: another inspiring thing is that they are always trying to improve in something. You can see a difference in all of them from when they debut until now and it is awesome.

Note2: The guy who "predicted" the rise of Bangtan is Mr Choi Siwon T-T (I love him so much!). He's an idol himself (SuperJunior: latest song House Party, about the pandemics) and an actor. I love both his roles, but especially as an actor, truly truly wonderful (usually hilarious but also serious roles). Go ahead and check something from him, you gotta fall in love with the man!

This is one of the best series about BTS, IMO. It uses real footage to tell the real story. It does go slowly, because it’s not a story that you should skip important parts of. Right now, there are 13 chapters, plus bonus content and deleted scenes. And there will be more - it’s been a while since I watched the whole thing, but I don’t think chapter 13 gets us past BST era. It’s a big time commitment to watch, but I love it and I think it’s very worthwhile. Stephen made a very important comment, I’m so glad to see you saw and responded (our comments can slip right by when you are busy) - he has a lot of knowledge, I have seen his comments in other places and I learn a lot from him 🙏💜 Thanks for doing this, please try to continue as it will open your eyes to a lot that has happened 🌺

I highly recommend for you to always watch the "deleted scenes" and "bonus scenes" of each episode to get the full picture. For narrative reasons not every clip can be in the main episode, but to really get to know the members, watching the additional footage is a great way to see what BTS is all about. 💜

These videos are out together SO well… it is just hard if you don’t know the main agencies or where the footage and where the groups are from in the beginning can be confusing. Basically they’re showing you how the rest of kpop is, cut into some bts parts that show that it’s the exact opposite of what the other groups are going through with their companies. It’s not super clear that this is the intention and them blending together can make it seem like it’s the same… but it’s actually showing that bts works as hard as any other group… but the circumstances, the drive, the creativity and control is polar opposite from Bang of, big hit and bts . Hope that makes sense

well this is old but they are saying their korean ages, when they debuted their international ages were jin & suga 20, j-hope 19, rm 18, jimin & v 17 and jungkook 15, jungkook was actually 13 (a few months away from 14) when he started training a bighit

Most of the "sh!tty things" you saw in the video comes from the Big3 (the 3 most powerful kpop companies: SM, YG and JYP) -SM is the worst... Please I recommend you to watch this video in your own time to understand a lil bit more what I'm saying kzbin.info/www/bejne/hF6rnXiZiN99rbs (from minute 11:20 till the end) Jino has been in this kpop world for years and knows what he's talking about. Remember that Hardships video you saw some time ago? Well SM has A LOT to do with that...

Not only do they treat their artists that way but they even try to bring down others, such a shame to see. BigHit should be the golden standard
