Astonishing Statistics! Thank you for shining a light on this important subject each year. Sadly I lost a gf to femicide in 1983 and I am a Survivor of Violent Sexual Trauma, now I support others. Sending Love and Strength to the loved ones affected by Violence Against Women.💜🙏

Domestic Violence happens at every socio-economic level. Most women who experience this may not need to go to shelters but they still need many other services to wrap around them. We need a safe community for healing. A place to be with other safe people. We need a more nuanced response to domestic violence trauma, a more robust response. We need to stop the generational trauma. It takes all of us. Ask your neighbour how they are. We need to actively look out for each other. Actively listen. Don't be dismissive. Be curious. Believe them.

One very important problem with our modern culture is our commodified survival. Imagine a huge change in Trudeau's thinking about the world before the election, as if he had a religious epiphany...and he came back to the podium with a plan to unite humanity by creating a human-made mycorrhizal network to ENSURE safe housing, clean water, healthy food, quality education, and full health care for EVERYONE, with a system of coming to the most logical and ethical solutions quickly, and a community builder simulator/video game to plan future development to be in harmony with the Earth and with each other...so kids and adults could earn a living wage from a place where they feel safe and loved, working towards an ensured basic standard of living for everyone, while achieving self actualization in the process. So instead of random evil, there would be more random altruism. The community builder simulator/video game could have versions that are better suited to neurodivergent people, possibly using colour and sound for the process of companion planting, maybe even texture too, down the line. Making people feel useful and purposeful and a part of something will change our species behavioural problems for better...when people aren't properly cared about they are more likely to not care about people back...commodifying our survival is the source of this negative feedback loop we're in...a part of his epiphany was that we need to link up like at a round dance and ensure a basic standard of living for everyone, so we can perpetuate all human cultures throughout infinity.
