block tales is a game where you play it once, and then you 100% and then you can just abandon it and remember all the fun memories. It’s like Mario games, or Nintendo games like that. It’s not meant to be kept being played until you don’t find it fun anymore. But since this game is public with it still releasing fully slowly, you are supposed to keep replaying because of the whole game updating, that is what makes games fun.

Somewhere back in 2022 (i think) i was scrolling through TikTok, and I stumble across some mega early gameplay of block tales, the gui was really crude and some effects were still in rough shape but i was still amazed by how the game play looked ive played some TRPGs in my time but it seemed really promising to turn out to be peak but i completely forgot about it months later

Block tales is the only game that manage to take the old roblox style and used that correctly and not like other games who just used for making excuses like it supposed to be "a passion project" for the game to be objectively bad a good example of this is sewh that game gets insane glaze for being "better than natural disaster survival" but block tales stays true to the original material everything to the world building character design and game play all fit in with the game and nothing feels out of place overall 9.2/10 game Must play it now I will increase the score if the next chapters are even better

I haven't watched the video that far but my own point is: 1. It is developed by well known people who worked on other popular games on roblox (arsenal devs) and/or have a big fanbase on social media (aseprite rico) 2. The retro aesthetic that most of the roblox players love and relate to. All we had before was super nostalgia zone, retroblox and etc. which just recreate the "feel" of old roblox and represent something like gmod by itself. But at this point... 3. It is combined with games that other people also relate to such as earthbound (which im a big fan of) and paper mario. At this point even those who dont play roblox get interest in what it all looks like. And lastly 4. The multiplayer. Not many people will remember purple skittles. It was a big hit back in 2016-2018, but it had no multiplayer. Blocktales had the opportunity to make stable multiplayer which made this game more enjoyable. You could play it all alone, but i beated it with my friends from start to the end of chapter 3 Yeah also soundtrack, social media promotion and etc had an impact offcourse

I feel like it gets too hard too fast, half way through the second chapter i already have to avoid enemies because every fight im literally surviving with barely anything. The only parts that i actually found fun were chapter one, the train in chapter 3, and the part right before hatred’s fight (aka the worst and most annoying part of the game). I really am taking a gamble saying my opinions, because as we all know, the number one rule of the internet is to always agree with the majority and never truthfully tell your real opinions or else everyone will start attacking you because they are crybabies that think their favorite game is the best piece of art since the mona lisa.

Block tales is good, great even. But it's definitely not good enough to be a game OUTSIDE of roblox. The story heavily relies roblox characters like Builderman and shedletsky, and it also just looks better in the Roblox style. If they ever did release it outside of roblox, i feel like stripping it of it's style will make it look like a generic Paper mario clone. I doubt it will have every roblox player talking about it after it finishes (i REALLY wanna be proven wrong here please please please), because turn-based combat isn't for everyone and Roblox likes to value Robux earned more than player count sometimes. (ive lost 3,000 robux on blocktales cause of donations ALONE thats how good it is)
