Such an underrated group of dinosaurs. I like them. They’re pleasant little guys with a lot of cool things to learn about them when you’re willing to look beyond the rat race of fighting and hunting and which dino could beat up what.

They would probably charge, trample you and crush every bone in your body. I'm HIGHLY sceptical that they were pleasant or little

Hadrosaurs are always depicted as defenseless easy food for predators But apparently, they had great senses (smell, eyesight, hearing), fast reflexes and were also smart They would be really hard prey to hunt

As always, great video! I’m currently working to get my major in geology with the hope of one day getting into paleontology, and these videos are always informative and often teach me something new. Also, thanks for taking my suggestion on a video covering the evolution and history of eagles and hawks! The group has a lot of interesting prehistoric members, and I hope some of the more obscure species are mentioned.

Hey Dr. Polaris, right after the evolution and the history of the Accipitriformes, why don't you get to think of a suggestion and creating a KZbin Videos all about the about the evolution and the history of the Prehistoric Marine Reptiles called the Palaeophiidae (Palaeophis), the Extinct Marine Serpentes (Snakes) that are the relatives to the Extant File Snakes, such as Archaeophis, Palaeophis, and Pterosphenus, in the next couple of weeks to think about that one coming up next?!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍

7:00 Siats is actually the largest carnivore from the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah
@Nrex1175 ай бұрын
@@aottadelsei980 The Cedar Mountain Formation is a large span of time ranging roughly from the early Cretaceous to the “middle Cretaceous”. I’m pretty sure the time Hippodraco and Utahraptor (both 139mya) lived Siats (94mya) wasn’t around yet but assuming you are speaking as a whole regarding the entire timespan of the formation then maybe it was the largest carnivore but I do think there is some Acrocanthosaurus (113mya) material from it as well so maybe not lol can’t remember which theropod is the bigger of the two.

What do you make of those genera for which only subadult specimens have been found? Just a skewed finding due to the scarcity of the fossil record? One would think if there's equal numbers of adults and young some fully grown examples would be fossilised. My thought: it suggests species which have large numbers of young, few of which make it to full adulthood due to predation. But enough reach early reproductive age in order to produce more young.?
