Can you imagine how dumb the pitch for Star Wars sounded? Or either Battlestar Galactica? Sean Connery passed on being in the LOTR movies because it sounded so stupid - a decision that cost him $450. So he went to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, thinking it was similar. That failure led him to pass on being Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. But from the outside the parts all looked similar to him.
