Paraphrase: Two ways separated in a forest and I could not travel both at the same time. I stood for a long time and gazed one way as far down as I could.
Then I opted for the other path which was equally nice and perhaps it was the better decision because it was grassy and needed some damage. However, the passing people had equally damaged this path.
Both paths looked the same that morning as they were covered with untouched leaves. I decided to save the first one for later, thinking I could come back another day. But as I thought about how one choice leads to another. I was not sure if I would ever return to it.
I will recall this story with a sigh many years from now: Once, in a forest, I faced a choice between two paths, and I chose the one that fewer people had walked on. And that choice changed everything for me
Rhyming Scheme: The entire poem is written in iambic tetrameter and the rhyming scheme of each stanza is: ‘abaab’
Literary Devices
Imagery: Clear descriptions of the yellow wood, the grassy path, and the leaves contribute to the imagery of the poem.
