This is Part II of Michael's conversation with Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye and Andrew Gillum. Tiffany, Angela and Andrew discuss the intention behind their new podcast, Native Land Pod and have a nuanced discussion on whether or not to engage with Black people considering casting their ballot for Trump. The script flips and Michael is interviewed on his role with the Tea Party, GOP and MAGA today, including his "Fire Pelosi" campaign and whether he regrets it. Angela's parents make a couple of cameos, too.

White guy from Mo again, former Republican guy here, since College Young Republicans club, etc., have become energized once again politically due to current environment. Attempted connecting with the Missouri Democratic Party 5 times, volunteered to work as fund raiser, poll workers, candidate for local office…each effort resulted in an automated message that someone will be in contact with me, series of requests for contributions, no contact to date. They do not seem to need or want outsiders.

The discussion was enlightening. Though Michael's motives might have been well-intentioned, perhaps slightly influenced by a craving for recognition and success, he shows a reluctance to acknowledge the full implications of his proficient work. This defensiveness seems to stem from a discomfort in admitting his role in securing victories for individuals who are, frankly, assholes.

I'm with you. Steele skirted the part he played in the repubiçan party, he was a willing token who presided as republican chair promoting tea party candidates . He was used to obscure the bigotry of the party while Obama was President. They made it difficult to get Obamacare passed. So him implying he was trying to get business opportunities for blacks from the inside of the repubiçan party is just spin - that definitely wasn't going to happen. Republicans are funded by insurance and pharmaceutical industry - he knew that. The 3 of them of them talked over each other which allowed him to not answer Andrew and Angela's question what deal did you make with yourself and the affect your participation had on future/present politics now.

Four excellent people having a brilliant conversation only minimally engaging the fundamentally racist underpinnings of all our party driven electoral problems. I'll say it for you, since I've lived my whole life here in Dumfuquistan; rural and (primarily) elderly white people suck. Demographics will help, since death and a shrinking rural labor force will create more opportunities for inclusion and change, similar to the 50 year cycles between 1870-1920-1970. Now if only we could get the Electoral College to become responsive to this change....

This platform has been well rounded to a certain point, meaning it was open straight to the point, as with Angela direct without an attack at Michael which in my view is what was needed. What called open and honest. Michael after receiving it paid respect for, and indicated not personal ✊🏾. If I may just say and add my comment is that the same level of conversation should held on the middle to the valley of the black community. I’m inspired Angela just listening raises the flag of great possibilities for, especially those who only see on the surface. Nevertheless in the present is where we are at unfortunately there’s a crater that separates us regardless what side of the isle. In this sphere there are more elements of cracks that continue to develop. Again it’s not about the young who are blind because they lack the basic core of understanding, this is why we have a presence to dialogue. In the present information of past history is shared so that the young move into the future. The other platform on the Michael steel the question was asked about the young self and each responded from their perspective. I some what forgot what Angela said but I believe it was was round what she thought she understood had a total outlook, please do not hold those exact words so I stand corrected, I believe you get the jest of it. In closing when tomorrow comes the young in the present becomes history of the past and the rebirth starts all over again. And last there are a whole host of voices in the valley of the black community that not being heard in depth from the inner and not just under the spotlight. Rather be a panel sit amongst the people than one can feel the positive vibes. It’s imperative that you take great heave on this, you may be surprised. Always connect with the middle to season seniors you may be totally unaware of their concerns issues and complaints one in government as well as churches. Silence has become num their voice and death to ear they cry to.

For Marilyn Mosby, here's a possible source of help: Matt Cox. He was rightfully convicted of various real estate crimes, served about 12 years in prison, and is now educating others on getting back on their feet on his true crime channel. He knows the system inside and out, from a perspective different than most of us. He's written a number of books too. If you want some public attention, he might be interested in having you as a guest on his podcast. Otherwise, he could be a very informed person to bounce your situation off of. Just a thought. Sending you best wishes.

I don't get Steele's usage of the term "Hip-Hop Republicans". Just as there has never been any one way all Black people were, in our own eyes, or in our own manifestations of being "Black" , there is no one way all Hip-Hop advocates are. Trumpism could be seen by some, as more Hip-Hop than what Steele thought he was bringing to the Republican party/conservative movement - whatever he thinks he was bringing.

Has Steele ever said why he feels the Republican Party is better for him, in getting the kind of policies he would like to see for society, especially now? What is the issue or issues that tips the scale to the Republican Party? He paints himself as a moderate or pragmatic person when it comes to politics. What is it about the Democrat Party that is so extreme to him, and why does he think its extremes are more harmful/unacceptable than those within the Republican Party. Could he have a better chance of winning over more Democrats to the center than he can Republicans, again, especially today?

I want to know too. Black republicans are a low key wierd obsession for me. However, Michael Steele is basically the only one I can stomach listening to in long stretches. The rest of them are trife. Did he mention the book 'Frederick Douglass Republicans'? It seems to speak to why at least some Black men are Republicans. I heard such a thing some years back - about 5 to t1 years ago from a regular caller to a talk show, I used to listen to. Your comment prompted me to do a search on it, and found that a book has been written, with that as its title - written in 2011. You may find some information from that book helpful. Just reading the reviews of it, by purchases on Amazon, which has it, was interesting, but not surprising - most seemed to take glee that their political beliefs, are reinforced by the author. The whole personal responsibility argument is a valid one for us to consider, but not for the country as a whole, and the general question of whether this country is consistent with what it has proclaimed from the beginning to be about, which was obviously contradicted, even before the first words officially making it a new and independent country, were even written. To the extent that too many of us, don't do all they can, with what opportunities we have, is surely true, and we must admit to that, and correct that. But, the government is still negligent, in insuring and protecting our rights as individuals and with not being generally fair and just, simply based on the basic of human standards. Again, this was the case from the beginning, that too many American citizens refuse to acknowledge and correct. Personal responsibility has never been a case of "respectability politics" and the "White gaze ", that people like Michael Eric Dyson, seems to have made popular among some of us. They misconstrue the work of the Black Baptist Church women who Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham wrote about. in her book 'Righteous Discontent....'. They taught nothing much different than what the Nation of Islam, taught or Marcus Garvey advocated Black people do, yet Malcolm and Farrakhan, never gets criticized for spreading a similar message and speaking critical of Black people. These individuals among us who charge any Black person who is critical of some of the things some of us do, with practicing respectability politics, even today say the phase, which one of us coined, and many of us have used - 'Black on Black crime', is "not a thing", when they obviously did not object to it, for most of their lives. Why is it now not a valid expression? Is it somehow, what the difference is between being down for the cause, right-on, conscious, and real is form being "woke"? None of them ever explain why they have changed. I haven't seen anyone else ask them to, so maybe that explains it. Am I truly the only one, who as been asking this question, for nearly ten years, if not more? How could they get away with this inexplicable 180 degree turn, in the value we place on our lives, not to mention still doing it, after some among us, have declared to the world, that our lives matter - period! ? Is this a question that you would like to get answered by them

@@hulasista1918 Thank you! I'm glad to see someone actually respond to the information that is presented in theses videos, Most just amount to an amen to what is presented. Critical thinking is not applied. There is no growth in that, for us individually and as a group. If I can ask one favor of you, would you ask people to consider the question of whether it is more productive for us to focus more on the internal causes of our problems, which we do, or at least should have, the power to change, as opposed to the external ones, which we have little to no power over? Another related idea is that the Left is highly idealistic in its rhetoric, and it is only directed at government, which is by nature impersonal, but we ask, nor expect none of this idealism, from the people. If we are so idealistic to call for the abolishment of police and prisons, then why can't we also ask the people, to give themselves a domestic peace dividend? Why won't we appeal to the people, to stop all the violence and crime in general, which uses up much needed funding for all the direct life affirming things progressives call for. High insurance costs of all kinds, waste a considerable amount of our budgets. A domestic peace-dividend is the logical extension of the 'peace dividend' that former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the late President George H.W. Bush proposed to the nations of the world, in the late 80's. They ask the nations of the world to significantly reduce their military spending, and use that money on their people, and to develop their countries. Democrats used a Republican model for healthcare when creating Obamacare. They borrowed that from conservatives. Why not the idea of a peace dividend also? Conservatives demonize socialism and equate it with communism/Marxism, even though Bernie Sanders is the only politician I know of, who identifies himself as a socialist. Patriotism, is a pillar of Conservative/Republican principles/values, yet it is a form of collectivism just like socialism. The family is socialistic, so what are they really in opposition to? I see it as fairness, that they are opposed to. They don't mine those with the least, having to make the greater sacrifice, when times are tough. There are three basic questions, that I see as the fundamental questions, that we need to address. They are - how much wealth, in a world of limited resources, should one person be allowed to amass? What is a fair amount of compensation, for an individual's labor or contribution, to a finished product? In any competitive situation, there will be those who win and those who don't win. How then should society view those who don't win, and how should those who don't win, view themselves? If you agree with these points, please raise them in your discussions, about these issues we face.

The other issue is that civics isn't taught in schools anymore. You have young people who dont know the three legislative branches of our county.( Executive, Legislative and Judicial). As usual, Angela does not know what she's talking about. I live in Baltimore and Mosby has been an embarrassment since she charged 6 officers with the death of Freddie Gray.
