Scarface's demise was he got high on his own supply. Nino Brown, on the other hand, got high on his own success. He relied on believing in his strength to make it the world. As a result, it leads to his downfall. Classic.

Always thought the soundtrack was the weakest part of the movie to be honest. Too much soft R&B, Ice-T's signature song was the one stand-out. Boyz 'N The Hood's soundtrack a few month later was much better. Did like Guy's title song though. :-)
@datboyphil5 жыл бұрын
@@Phoenix-xn3sf yeah right every track on that soundtrack was official. Esp the rap joints that track from 2 live crew was one of the deepest tracks on the album. Then the r&b joints balanced it out that soundtrack and the movie masterpieces.

I really enjoyed this documentary. Every aspect discussed I remember experiencing in the theatre as a 12 year old. The opening scene gave me goosebumps and I still felt it when Mario talked about it. This movie stayed on my mind for weeks after I watched it. It changed my life. Nino, Pookie, G Money, Keisha, all these characters were instant classics. Then Martin just crystallized its iconic status with his iconic tribute on his iconic show.

What a phenomenal directorial debut by a film director that left such a impact on a culture :-) very intriguing,the techniques done by van peebles,talk about being given lemons and making lemonade out of it,Mario said it best,boy did he improvise!!! Another extremely debut by ice T as well,you definitely believed his performance!! Brilliant how this film is a crime drama with a hip hop tone,very fresh!! This was the gangster genre anthem for me growing up,my scarface,my GoodFelllas,my godfather,me being a 80's baby. Thumbs up to Mario van peebles for not only directing my urban crime drama anthem but also my favorite western,which is extremely underrated and unappreciated,POSSE!!!!

All I can say is,...this movie was perfect.I can't think of anythink that they could have done differently to make the movie's character's more believable. Every single actor played their role to perfection. I almost wished for a sequel some years ago called 'New Jack City 2: Nino's Revenge'. I envisioned that Nino Brown survived falling over those stairs, lived and tried to get his revenge,...but some classics just need to end where they are and just remain untouchable like this one. One error I did notice in this documentary is when Mario starts talking about the scene where G Money shoots "Rasta Man" in the head. Mario is so excited about describing the scene that he keeps referring to him as "Fat Smitty". LOL! "Fat Smitty" was actually the character that Nino Brown takes from The Carter and walks down the street naked. I don't know how much they paid the guy to do that scene but I remember in the ending credits of the movie he didn't use his actual name. Probably to avoid future embarrassment no doubt. If I remember correctly his name in the credits was 'Eek-A-Mouse'.
@DermDZL15 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, I think the fat naked man you're referring to was named Frazier.
@TalkinnGrubbinMedia Жыл бұрын

Nothing compared to Wesley in Sugar Hill. He had a heart,he had integrity, and It's almost like they ignored that role purposely in order to maintain his image as a heartless bm. He was handsome,kind, gentle and ruthless in Sugar Hill and they hate to portray bm as multi faceted as that. Sugar Hill was a great portrayal of bm that are gangsters, trying to escape the life and live normal.

Like Welsney Snipes said (not verbatim): Hopefully you get something out of this movie. Hopefully there is something to get out of this movie for generations to come. Yeah absolutely! There is a message: Have no part of drugs: The interest of getting high of drugs or the greed from the business of it! The business of drug dealing and doing drugs has not improved at all in this day and age, it's probably gotten much worse, so the hope is that this movie gives some insight on all of that.
