528 will always be the Bee line for me, that was it’s original name. Looks like a great way to do it.

That’s awesome! I’ll have a video with some areas that might look familiar, coming up this week.

They also stop in Florence, SC about 1:30 AM to change crews. You can get off the train for a few minutes if you want to get some fresh air.

They do. Some trains allow smokers to use that stop. For whatever reasons some trains don’t.

Definitely worth a try. Especially to get out of Florida. I don’t know if coach would be a good choice. Coach is cheaper but nothing is included. Separate dinner, breakfast, shower, bathroom, etc. Thanks for watching! If you need any other info that I may have forgotten to include in the video you can always contact me here. More than happy to answer any questions. If not, their website has a lot of info.

Thank you Kelly! Definitely worth a try at least once. I’m thinking about doing it again next year and then riding out to South Dakota. ✌🏼🙏🏼

I was wondering if you just left the bike at the curb for them to load - that would be a hard no! I was in VA/WV last month - great area to ride 👍

I had the same hesitation because they don’t give you details on the website about loading. They drive cars up on the train but they don’t touch bikes. That was a HUGE relief to me. Matter of fact, before they told me how to do it I was taking pictures of the bike to make sure they didn’t damage anything. 😂 It was a good experience. Another relief was that I left some valuables on the bike and they make you sign a release but then they told me that they drive the trailer up there and nobody stays in that car after. Thanks so much for watching! ✌🏼

4:54 did you have to put it into transportation mode ? 8:40 nevermind..lol😅

Absolutely a must. That train moves a lot. You have to do everything yourself. Load the bike on the trailer and put it in transport mode. They just tie it down and take the trailer to the train car. I noticed that some will remind you of transport mode but some will not.

How much was the trip on the train to get to West Virginia?
@coffeehogs
@coffeehogs 6 ай бұрын
The Auto-Train only takes you from Sanford Florida just outside Orlando, to Lorton Virginia just outside of DC. The cost varies by season but it’s in the ballpark of about $150 + another $100 for motorcycles for coach,. About $765 + $100 for private room. These ballparks are per person/ one way. Check the Amtrak website. You can go on there and pick dates, type of room, number of passengers, and vehicle type. You can also pick one way trip or round trip and pick your dates. I highly suggest you buy what’s called a FLEX ticket. It gives you the flexibility of canceling all the way up to before the train leaves. You may have to call for this option.
