I was raised by and around older people my whole life and in high school I was in a relationship with an older person. That's crazy because i was called to group 1 of this video when a tarot reading was the last thing on my list of content to watch. But yeah, i got a couple false loves that I've been through. They have taught me a lot about who i am and what i want. I have had a lot of lessons and kissed a lot of frogs. But when my man came into my life, i tell you what. It was a whole different experience. This person became my best friend and has challenged me in massive ways i never would have been challenged had i not allowed him into my life. He and i are two very different people, and that is very scary because some of our differences are major differences. But we do have shared core beliefs where it counts. We really do. As we realized that we were starting to become something more than friends, i was absolutely terrified. I was in my hot girl era, (still am, but this queen is taken) i didn't want no man, i wasn't desperate for love, i wasn't even interested. I agonized for weeks about it. I already knew him, he's my best friend after all, but i wasn't even sure of how i felt. After i figured that out, i still wasn't done. No, ya girl had to interrogate this man like it was NCIS. What are your dreams for your future, describe your lifestyle, how do you handle yourself when you're mad, why do you want this relationship, etc. Etc. Etc. He took it like a champ. Now we're together and it's something different all together. I own snakes. This man starts doing research on snakes and their behavior in order to learn how to read their body language and hold them. Comes 20 miles just to scrub dried up pee off of used enclosures i bought. I have a disability. Not only does he not treat it like something uncomfortable, but he asks me to teach him about it. How he can help me. How it impacts my life. This man tells me i am beautiful, in the most emotionally vulnerable ways. He goes outside of his comfort zone for me. Idk If we're gonna be forever or just the next big thing on my path to life, but i at least know that he is beyond serious, and that reflects in how i treat him. I know i gotta be vigilant. Keep on a path of sobriety and not get swept away in it. Because even if he don't have bad intentions for me, rose colored glasses never lead anyone towards a long successful commitment. Awareness and communication is critical. But regardless, I'd say so much of this reading has resonated with how my experience has been on my path to him.
