2:37 The moment where Dwight had begun to turn on Michael and it was justified. This was one of the sadder moments for me when this had happened because Dwight was such a loyal and reliable confidant to Michael and he took him for granted. After Dwight snapped at Michael for trying to defend him, he lost all respect for his manager and pretty much acted cold and petty towards him. I'm glad they made up near the end, but for an entire season or so it was very unsettling to see them interacting with each other with Dwight giving negative quips to Michael. Moral of the Clip (at least for me) Treat people with respect, especially your best friend. Because they may end up becoming your worst enemy...

Dwight is zealously loyal and obedient to Micheal because this is the archetype of the boss-employee relation to him. This is how he wishes to be served should he be boss. That doesn't mean he view Micheal as perfect. He knows his defects and failures which he normally dismisses because that would hinder his view of this ideal relationship, unless he's being pushed too much, like here.

Dwight slowly loses respect for Michael over the course of the show. Especially after he started dating Angela properly. That's actually why this is one of my least favorite episodes. The plot is so messy and inconsistent. Like the beginning of the episode focuses on Dwight and how his fire drill stunt caused the office to go through safety training again. But then, out of nowhere, the episode suddenly starts focusing on Michael and everyone doing this roasting session talking about how much they despise him. Dwight's storyline is then completely forgotten about and never mentioned again. What happened? It honestly feels like the writers randomly decided to change the plot of the episode when they were halfway through writing it. Am I the only one who noticed this?

@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD It’s not just the cold opening. The whole CPR training thing and everything that happens at the beginning occurs because of Dwight’s fire drill and is heavily focused on Dwight. They spend nearly 20 minutes focusing on this until they abruptly shifted the episode to focus on Michael and him realizing that he stresses everyone out. Like I said, it feels like the writers just randomly decide to change the plot of the episode when they were halfway through writing it. I love how Michael is just an embodiment of human drama. Everything he does he does based on what he saw on TV , even his little mannerisms like when Jim begin telling his joke and he just randomly said “ I know where this is going “ just because he saw someone said it on TV is sooo fucking hilarious his character is made to play that role ..
