I feel like this iceberg doesn’t do much justice to how much has happened in ia, so this is a few things that I think were interesting after playing since 2021; -The hitbox was actually really different, it didn’t have the “radius” like most items (most notably the backhand slap) but rather the item itself was its main hitbox. This meant that items like fish were extremely overpowered due to it being able to hit players easily. -The points system originally never deducted the players points, as it was really hard to get them. On average, you’d get like 30-70 points per game. As a result of not getting points deducted, you’d have almost every emote and tag if you had like 20k points (excluding Gakuen). This was changed in the 2021 Christmas update, and originally people WERE upset but not for long -Item Asylum used to have its Wiki on Trello back in 2021, made by a player (I forgot its user). I remember using it myself and it was REALLY scuffed due to having vague information for each item and not being able to search for a specific item (you have to scroll down its category to even find it). Eventually the player did some controversy and the trello was discontinued, causing a new ia wiki to be formed (the one were using today) I’m pretty sure this player also had access to gakuen by the devs for his wiki aswell -There used to be a period where the ia community kept bashing on Random Rumble after the KZbinr gone_fishinq called out the game for having similar assets and references (most notably the bobm). This caused a massive amount of people to hate on it, and the devs seemed to be really chilled with it surprisingly. That’s why they made the random rumble item, and if I’m not mistaken Random Rumble also has an item called “Item Asylum”, though I’ve never played the game lolz -Before players like dtpham, there used to be a player people considered to be the best; Raymaark. Previously known as Leish, they were the person with pretty much the most amount of points in the entire game, around 100K+ with the old coin system. For refference, I used to play this game every day during quarantine and only got up to 21K. And when the new points system rolled out, Raymaark was the first ever player to legitimately unlock gakuen, a massive achievement during that moment of the game. Of course now it’s different since alot of people have it now, but it is something kinda noteworthy iykwim I think that’s all I can remember clearly, do lmk if I made any mistakes :)

You forget about hill map. It was removed a few hours after adding it to the game. It was a reference to sonic.exe creepypasta. I played on that map but sadly i didn't record or screenshot. What i know about map: There was music in the map from sonic.exe, which it referenced. Although I don't remember exactly, I think it was the remix of Green Hill Zone Reverse. There were red rings on the map and they gave -1 coin. So when you take it, you lose a point lol. Also, the ring picking sound was playing in reverse. The map was a bit like alphaislands, but it was sonic.exe themed and bigger.

Ok. Cool vid but like i feel that the iceberg you picked was: 1. Not accurate for 20% of the time. And 2.this iceberg mostly consists of very few things relating to item asylum, and more on the fangames that are heavily inspired by it. (I mean sure fangames are fine but like it's still ia that we're talking about right?) For example like why the hell is 10 hour burst in like layer 6 when literally the boss AND the item are in layer 2 and 1 respectively?? Like i don't think it's that obscure to the community playing this game Plus some things need to be removed because other aspects in the item are just branches of said things (or just things that are literally the same) (Like for example JPX and Jean Port and Xerroz, items and melees ranged and misc, and clayman and bosses) TLDR: this iceberg is a bit outdated for it to be covered in 2025, i feel like if you guys want a part 2, just try to cover a bit more recent iceberg, that's all thank you for reading

wanted to make a quick correction at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1031">17:11</a> about apologist/hellion. apologist was removed due to its' contributor, who was a manipulator and groomer that scammed people prior to being outed for his actions. this also led to the removal of a lobby not mentioned in the iceberg that was associated with the owner of a surrealist game group, who was scammed by the contributor under the guise of working for him. there were many more reasons for their removals but this was the main one for both of them.
