A quick “used to be louder” that was as genuine as it could be. Of course quickly covered up but that moment of humility that was an honest reflection of how the crowd has been evolving during this story. Absolutely beautiful. That's the same thing I was thinking. Why NOT just let Seth actually be genuine in what he says. Have him team with Cody, have him get in Roman's head, have Cody and Seth lose on some mistake Seth made, then night 2 for the big match it's the bloodline vs Cody but he has assistance from Seth, Jey and Surprise ally Randy Orton. Cody wins the belt, Randy hits RKO. that's Cody's first Feud as champion.

I can’t see them having Cody get screwed two years in a row and I can’t see them having the same winner two years in a row, at that point I think you run the risk of losing faith from the audience and then you completely kill Cody’s momentum. He’s the face of the company, he’s full-time and he’s over unlike anyone has been in years. If they have Cody walk out empty handed they might as well fire him, bc if he’s not the guy now, then he never will be so why keep wasting time investing in him if it’s never gonna pay off. Fans were willing to be patient before, but no more. The time is now and WWE knows it. Just as like a start, there’s no shot that Cody and Seth win the tag match, Rock and Roman are 100% winning that tag. There’s no way WWE are going to advertise an interference free match, just to have someone else interfere in the MAIN EVENT of WrestleMania 🤦‍♂️ at that point it’s a swerve for the sake of it. WWE will want it to be established that there will be bloodline interference. Specifically they will want to do a repeat of last years finish, have Cody take the spike and spear, but this time Cody kicks out. It just writes itself.

Not only this, Cody losing last year still did him no favors, he was in a holding pattern for all of 2023 and Roman Reigns essentially did nothing either. Having Cody lose is doing no favors for anyone when rock and Roman can fued for Trible Chief status, it does not need a title whereas if you want Cody to feel like a Main Event caliber star, he needs the WWE title.

What this angle has shown me is so many fans have lost the ability to see the long game which is crazy considering the Bloodline has been a long term story. All these people who are desperate for Cody to win are missing the point. He is going to win the title eventually. He will 100% be the one to beat Roman. But doing it now makes the whole story smaller when it could be absolutely huge and twice as big. This is a large scale, long term plan. Almost Marvel MCU-esque. We thought we were in the final act when in reality we are only beginning Act 2. This is epic storytelling and I have to agree with Sam. LET. THEM. COOK.

But also he will have had a HUGE rivalry with Seth (if it does play out that way which seems reasonable at this point) again who will have serious heat from costing Cody the title. The Bloodline story goes to new heights (which already is with The Rock involved), and next year at Mania you have Rock V Roman, and Cody, who will be champion, making a defence of his title that now means so much more because of how hard he had to work to get it. If you think he will lose momentum you haven’t been paying attention to the overall picture.

It’s not about needing Roman to be champion for more time; it’s about what having Cody lose in a way similar to what Sam said develops for further stories. Cody is going to be champion and he’s going to beat Roman and imagine he will go over clean. People are acting like it’s never going to happen. But impatience is blocking people from seeing the most important thing in wrestling which is that you are always looking for what’s next. Obviously the payoff also has to be there, but if those two things can work together then it makes perfect sense to do so.

Cody will win at Mania. Two consecutive main event championship losses would be an absolute burial. I don't think Roman needs the title for his program with the Rock. In fact, the loss will actually be good for his character development; the doubts and insecurities that we saw on Friday will become more prominent. Further, losing the title won't take the Bloodline out of the main event scene. Cody's chase for the title is the hottest story in WWE right now, but once he wins, the Bloodline civil war will be back in the #1 spot. I actually think Cody will be less popular once he wins the title. There's no ready-made challenger for him that will be nearly as compelling as the Bloodline.
