He wasn't intentionally lightening his skin either. 2004 was the Blackest he was on mainstream display. He doesn't have to try to be one side of his identity or the other, it'd be nice if he just embraced being more natural and being both without playing up his Samoan roots up to the point people almost only see him as a Polynesian.
