Saw them at Wembley with Who Are You. Exciting, powerful and brilliant. Saw them Tour Face Dances and looked like they were going through the motions. This is like two old blokes ( they are) winning a prize to play with a professional band before going back to their day jobs. The Who were genius. This is pretty dreadful - as are most rock bands after they hit 40.

WEAK performance.......the fact that they needed the orchestra says it all. Time to retire fellas....
@frankmarsh11592 жыл бұрын
The didn't need the orchestra they "chose" to have the orchestra. I think they did a very good job too. Sometimes these kind of situations don't always work, especially without rehearsing with the band. This orchestra is "in sync"with the music and the arrangement is tight and their tonation is good. The mix is pretty good (at least from whatever type camera this is.) "Obviously" Daltrey's range isn't what it used to be but over all a very good performance.
@jaysantos5362 жыл бұрын
@@frankmarsh1159 100% disagree. Roger was 50% of what he was two years ago and Pete was barely noticeable on guitar at all. The orchestra totally took away from the ROCK CONCERT. It was nothing like when Depp Purple played with the London Philharmonic or even the Tribute to Jon Lord deal.
@frankmarsh11592 жыл бұрын
@@jaysantos536 Well it was a heck of lot better than when Yes used local orchestras. Watch some of those videos from twenty years ago. Some seem like the orchestras are playing different songs than the band. Worst Yes concert I ever went to. These Who songs by contrast were orchestrated on the original albums with horns and string sythns. Like I said they were at least in sync and in tune. Saw Jeff Lynn's ELO two years ago. Great string section. Very tight. Everybody knows when you go see rock stars in their seventies they may not have the range they used to have. I have friends who turned down McCartney tickets because they said his voice was not the same as it once was. If that's your metric then so be it. But I thought the band performance was pretty tight and they had the overall feel of the albums. They may not be as tight as McCartney s current band but I would go see them.
@brandonkaiser83442 жыл бұрын
@@jaysantos536 not gonna argue about the orchestra even tho they have them in their songs over the years including Love Reign, but I have to disagree on Roger sounding awful. I think he sounds a lot better than the last 8-10 years or so. A lot more methodical imo and actually staying in pitch.
