For a man who nobody would consider the best actor in the world nor the best wrestler is the world, the Rock did brilliantly for himself to become the highest paid. And I mean that as a compliment, he marketed himself incredibly well in recent years.

@@biglocc2209 not even close. It was widely known the Rock wasn't actually a great wrestler even though he came from a wrestling family. Technically he was very limited, had a limited range of moves, he never took big bumps and had one of the worst finishers in wrestling in the People's Elbow. In pure wrestling terms, he was nowhere near as good as many other successful pro wrestlers of his generation: Kurt Angle, Owen & Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H and Chris Jericho were far better technical wrestlers. Steve Austin prior to his neck injury was also a far more accomplished wrestler than the Rock, in Austin's WCW days he was far more technical. What made the Rock so successful wasn't his wrestling skills - it was his charisma and his mic skills, and in those areas he was absolutely one of the best, if not the best. On the mic, I actually don't think any pro wrestler even comes close to how electrifying he was, he had an incredible ability to make an entire crowd go wild with perfectly delivered words. Someone like Chris Benoit was not great on the mic and lacked charisma, he made it to the top because he was such a damn good wrestler. The Rock was the opposite - if he had been poor on the mic and lacked charisma, there's no way he would have made it to the top on wrestling skills alone. But what skills he had on the mic.
