This was so satisfying to watch. But on WM a great championship reign will finally come to end. Say what you may about Roman but he was the one who turned the tide for wwe once he turned heel. And Rock came took WWE to its former glory. Both are goated.

Nah this is different.. it's welcomed by him this time and it's a love hate relationship between him and the audience. Everyone knows he's the best thing going right now and deep down they love him cause he gave them exactly what they asked for

@@dyreman20 I know. He’s used to this (1997, 1998, 2003)…. But still after everything through regaining his fan base only for it to be destroyed over two screwups (Black Adam and the Cody Rhodes situation) I just can’t imagine feeling like being the only one who will never chant “Rocky Sucks”. His heel turn is a defensive move, at least. But if you think about it. It just feels like “How the hell did people’s respect for him shifted in a span of years?” Bright side is, it’s a sacrifice to put Cody and Roman over however. Without it, their event would be boring and dull af.

@LunarSpawnSerenata well creative messed this whole thing up from the beginning. Him coming in as a Face would've only worked maybe last year before the whole "finish the story" campaign picked up so much steam. But either Rock wasn't ready or too many politics, and then they tried to give people what they wanted a whole year later. So he listened to the people (as usual) and found the best way to fix it. With that being said, you're right. How anyone can boo/hate on this man is beyond me. He's the only one of the legends who gets critiqued as harshly as he did when he was in his prime, yet he's over 50. Rick Flair can come in at 80 years old and do a couple of "woooo's" and eye pokes and the crowd goes wild. But the fact that Rock not only took the challenge, met the challenge and excelled at the challenge at his age, shows you who the real GOAT is. Hoping all goes well during the match at WM.💪🏾💯

@@LunarSpawnSerenata If anything, stuff like the Black Adam situation should remind everyone that no one's perfect, and a lot of Rock's PR failure situations are often mixed lacking context. That's just stuff that happens to any celeb, but moreso those with more outside ambitions. The Rock still gets the Hollywood sellout label from a subsection of wrestling fans, even though pro wrestling is LITERALLY his heritage and even though John Cena and Batista are Hollywood actors themselves with Cena apologizing publicly to The Rock over and over since 2016 for legitimizing that sentiment (he personally apologized at WM28 I believe). As far as I know, Cena and Batista do not have their own non-WWE related brands or products like Rock has with tequila, energy drinks and a skincare line other than their own films. Ambitions open the door for ulterior motives even if The Rock has none and even if he is 1:1 or near 1:1 with his carefully crafted PR image of being a nice, down-to-earth, approachable celeb. There's always that skepticism the more The Rock wants to do more, which is amplified if those recent projects aren't impressing (Rock playing the "same character" or himself in films since 2011, not liking or caring for ZOA, Teremana or Papatui etc). As long as he treats others right, I personally don't care or mind whatever Rock does outside of wrestling except running for President. I'm still on the mindset that the whole Cody situation was more of a work, not a pivot because Cody Rhodes was one of the few or only wrestlers wrestling outside of WWE where The Rock tweeted multiple congrats for their match and promos (Cody's NWA World title win, his match with Dustin at AEW Double or Nothing 2019, Cody's promo on Jericho ironically using the same phrases he's using now on Rock like "carny succubus"). And Rock also congratulated both Cody and Seth in their Hell in a Cell match. Backstage politicking is something The Rock hasn't been known to do (most losses vs Austin, putting over Hurricane, Lesnar, eating pins from Stephanie of all people etc) but instead be a victim of (Shawn Michaels and HHH) with lower level jealous wrestlers in-between (Ahmed Johnson and Road Dogg in the Attitude Era, Cena, Orton and Punk in the PG Era etc). There's too many shoot interviews and tell-alls where The Rock is considered a class act. But all of a sudden he's legitimately politicking his way to the WM40 main event over Cody expecting only little dissention? I consider it more of a test of how over Cody Rhodes is, since he's positioned to be the next John Cena, and he succeeded. The other tests are PR of The Rock as a villain again because of the whole story of his contracts in recent movies not to play a villain or look bad in movies or something. Who knows if any of Rock's recent behind-the-scenes stories in Hollywood and WWE have some sort of legitimacy, but they damn sure contradict how consistently well documented Rock is behind-the-scenes back then.

@@dyreman20 Shit. Hence to why I want this "Finish the Story" shit to be over. Let Cody get the belt so we can move on to Rock vs Roman. Let's get it over with so we can get to the initiative for next year.
