Hey man, I’m not a drummer or anything but I’d like to humbly and respectfully ask you if you think where you’re holding the stick more towards the end is better for the finger movements etc are you using the palm of your hand to bounce the stick?? I think this video just made me understand this concept for the first time

Yes, I've found holding the stick more towards the end allows for a lot more control and generally feels better, and yes he's bouncing it back and fourth using a fulcrum. You can tell he's a good drummer because it's mainly his wrist that is in control and arms are fairly relaxed.
