The Rock vs Roman Reigns IS a dream match that has been asked for since Reigns started the Tribal Chief gimmick, if you're a stats person then just go you look at the views for fake edits of them facing each other. The key thing here is people WANTS that match, but NOT AT THE EXPENSE of ruining Rhodes vs Reigns feud momentum. Just because people are pissed that Rhodes got shafted, as they should, don't mean people do not want the match. This is the worst booking decision since The Rock screwed Punk. It legit makes no sense across the board. I’ll admit I think the Seth promo on Monday was one of his best in his career but for Roman to bury your character, your title and the possibility of that match all in around 2 minutes just for WWE to tell Cody to let The Rock take his spot instead is easily the worst thing Triple H has ever done and they’ve buried Cody Rhodes in the most cruel way possible. Okay hear me out. This isn't what I wanted. I want Cody vs Roman in a one-on-one match for the title. But if this is the framework where we can build the WrestleMania card, the best we can do is to have a triple threat match. I think they can set this up this way: Monday Night Raw. Cody explains why he gave up his spot to The Rock because he understands the family history, the fact that he cares for this business and the best way to draw eyes to this business is for The Rock to face Roman, etc. Then, out comes an injured, angry CM Punk. He berates Cody, not in a bad way, but in a motivational, enouraging way. He tries to talk some sense into Cody; tells Cody how the diehard fans waited for the Rematch to happen and for him to finish the story, just for him to throw it all away to a part-timer, with all due respect to The Rock. Let Punk remind Cody of the pipebomb and how that revolutionized the business, a revolution that Cody brought to fruition (affirming what Cody said before the Rumble on Raw), and in giving up his spot, he's giving up on that same revolution. In the end, he tells Cody to take back what he said on SmackDown and reclaim his spot on the main event of Mania. "Do it for you, Cody. Do it for your father. But, most importantly, do it for the people who rooted for you, for the wrestlers who got overshadowed and thus failed to get their deserved spot... do it for me. Do it for us. DON'T LET BAD HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF." Basically, make this as a springboard for Cody to change his mind. Let him then announce on SmackDown that he's changed his mind, that he's coming for Roman, and if that means he's also going through Dwayne, then so be it. After all, reaching difficult goals is kind of his thing. Just my two cents.

Only way they could and should fix this is by having Rock become the special guest referee for Roman v Cody for night 2. Have Cody go over Roman with regards to the Rock. Post Raw/SD after Mania, The Rock and Roman Reigns set up the match for Mania 41.

If it isn't Wrestlemania, and it absolutely should be, than the only other place on this planet that Cody could win the title and it make sense is Madison Square Garden, where his father was denied the title. But from what I can see WWE doesn't have any plans to return to the Garden, at least not scheduled.

It may just be me, but I envisioned Punk vs Seth and Cody vs Roman. Also though I thought the Rock would’ve been #30 at the rumble cause I knew the last time he showed up it wasn’t just for show. Then once Raw happened I knew yeah it’s likely Cody V Seth which I’m fine with personally because Seth was his first opponent coming back which began this entire “Story” run. That’s just me though I have the messages of me almost accurately calling all of it 😂.
