My car is ford aspire (India). Here we don't have idatalink module for the car. If I use dsr1 using speaker level outputs, won't the sound quality suffer as the factory head units have very crappy sound processing. So if a sound signal that is not adequately processed, how the DSR1 do wonder?

What happens to the center channel speaker in an Alpine/Harmon system? will that unit now sum the center channel signals into the F/R outs? Can that specific function i described be assigned manually through the software? My Grand Cherokee (2015) has the Alpine system and id like to eliminate the center channel and run a basic F/R/S setup eventually.

Anthony B I'm guessing you either need to unplug it at the speaker itself or disconnect the actual wiring at the amp. This is what you do with the Helix DSP (which is around $600 retail and is only tunable with a computer or $300 remote with a 3-inch screen). Audison and others I believe do the same thing with the center channel. With a DSP and with time alignment there's really no need for a center channel. That is unless you absolutely need one but when built correctly, most people do not need one with their speaker setups.

and if i disconnect that speaker i loose blue tooth phone audio, all warning chimes and AM radio. That's why i was asking if this unit will SUM the center channel into the front channels (L/R)... essentially bringing back anything that was playing through the center channel. I wish it were as simple as unplugging, but its not. PAC Audio makes the AP4-CH41 (perfect for the Alpine or Harmon Systems) which eliminates the center channel and SUM's it into the front left and right speakers (like i was explaining) BUT doesn't have an EQ like the DSR1. It's strictly pre amp out. I guess you could buy a standalone DSP for it, but i like how the RF piece is an all in one and can be adjusted on the fly off my i-phone, thats pretty dope. pac-audio.com/catalog/audio-interfacing/ap4-ch41

Anthony B well if they have a data link set up for your vehicle it will just bypass that speaker during audio and then when you have a call open the doors anything like that I'm sure it has a past 3 that would allow the center speaker to work. But there is a Rockford Fosgate rep that is popping in here I'm sure he will see your question. If not find where he's speaking to another individual and ask him a question.

wow i know that already, OBVIOUSLY i will be using aftermarket amps, jesus!!! i have over 10 years car audio installation experience behind me... you just don't have the specific answer i'm looking for. I will just assume all center channel audio (from Alpine system) will be SUMMED aka "mixed" into the new front channel outputs. I cant see why this piece wouldn't do that.

Anthony B Like I was saying there's other dsps like this and they simply do not work with a center channel. You have to unhook it and unhook the microphones for the volume control when you're going certain speeds. If you go into Audiotec Fischers website they have a tool to see if your vehicle will work with their amplifiers that have built-in DSP. It's called the Match system. It comes with a t- harness that plugs in line to the factory amp. And all of the harnesses I've looked at that have the setup for cars with a center channel tells you to unpin a certain wire which is the center channel. The the DSP simply does not have a setting for center channel. To my knowledge there is no control for it in the control app. Since you're using aftermarket amplifiers you would probably have to have a separate amplifier. You would simply use Y connectors 2 had an output from your left and right dsr-1 ouputs. Another way is to simply connect the speaker itself to the front stage amplifier for the left and right channels by essentially bridging the center speaker on the amplifiers speaker terminals. Once you start getting into using time alignment I don't understand how it would work efficiently having sound the signal up for the center speaker.

Hope someone can help me, here goes, i got a 2012 f150 and cant seem to find the 4 channels audio output for my stock stero with sync and nav, I've searched the internet and can't find the matching wire that goes out from the stock stero. So my question is can i tap into the stock amplifier going out to the speakers with the dsr1 and not get the t harness for my truck ?

Can this dsp compensate for some of the factory radios that have a bass roll off towards higher volume levels? Such as the accubass technology some of the audio control dsp's have.

audio control accubass is garbage compared to getting a full maestro signal. But if you use the high level inputs then no you wont get anything good. There is no signal summing or bass restoration with the high level inputs.

To back up Jeff, you'll be looking at the big brother 3Sixty.3 signal processor that has a patented signal summing feature. Rockford Fosgate kept this out of the DSR1 to keep the cost down for a majority of the installs out there.

use it via rca out, bluetooth dongle, or maestro link, its one of the best affordable convenient dsp's on the market but it has bugs. Not a deal breaker but you have to live with some of it and know how to work around the other bugs. Still amazing for a 3 way front stage + sub.

particular ones i've ran into with 4 installs so far is that the time alignment swaps the left and right inputs(only for time alignment screen) once you start tuning it and yes the rcas/left and right was completely correctly wired, it only swaps the output once you actually get into time alignment and start tuning its pretty annoying All you need to do is to flip the values and time align the opposite way . Also bluetooth connectivity is very poor and doesn't connect sometimes and sometimes require a full reset(unplug the harness) for it to work. You also need to choose very low pre-out input in order to get a strong signal. Like if your head unit is 4 volt pre-out, you should choose 1-2 volt pre-out in the config wizard or else the signal coming from the dsr-1 is very weak if you chose 4 volt pre-out. However with choosing 1-2 volt pre-out the signal is extremely strong and clean from the DSR-1

Unfortunately no, the AUX input is switched, so it will turn off the RCA or High-Level inputs to use the AUX input.

But it has subwoofer controls so I'm guessing you just assign which input you're going to use your subwoofer amplifier with? The diagrams I'm looking at has the Bluetooth controller cumming in the axillary input. But wait! There is a diagram showing Subwoofer output. Is there a way I can send this to you?

There are two methods of implementing Bluetooth: 1) Classic - good for streaming but not power efficient and more expensive. 2) Low Energy - very power efficient, but does not support audio streaming (used on Smart Watches). Rockford Fosgate is using a Bluetooth Low Energy module to keep the cost down. We realize many of today's modern vehicles with CANbus have source units with A2DP streaming and hands free functionality.

You may want to have Five Star Car Stereo help you out with upgrade options on your 2008 Mercedes w219 CLS. You may be dealing with a MOST system that will require a converter like the mObridge DA1 or DAB+ with the Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3 signal processor since it has a patented signal summing function (DSR1 does not.)

James Orr you can use it with anything. You just don't use the maestro portion when using high level inputs, aux, or spdif inputs. Those inputs will allow you to use all the equivalent, crossover, and time alignment features.

I love everything about it other than I can't stream audio to it without buying an additional Bluetooth device. PLEASE TELL ME I'M WRONG IN THAT I HAVE MISINTERPRETED THIS. It was to my understanding, coming from others including Rockford, that I would be able to simply have my phone or tablet the dsr1 and a set of amplifiers to build a system. Either way, THANK YOU DAN AND FERNANDO! I don't know if you remember me from Monday (left a in-depth PM as well LOL) or not but I am the one that is doing a 3 generation Rockford (RF³) amp tribute build. Along with that, I will be doing interchangeable door enclosures as well as subwoofer enclosures. Essentially you can have a SPL enclosure setup with a high-end three way front stage. There will be three sets of amplifiers that the listener can change between (even during the same track) to hear how each generation would have sounded. There will be a door enclosure with an old-school component set so you can actually relive a system from the 90s! All other speakers will be Crescendo audio. I'll wrap it up as this one is running a little too long (lol Dean) ON TO THE NEXT ONE!

This is prob either way off the whole reason for having the ability to leave commentary or been asked to death in prior videos, but I have this very item installed in my 2013 VW CC sport with the Sony Rsx-GS9 and this whole DSP thing finally becoming lil more mainstream makes me so so so happy and it's long overdue. I won't bore you with all the specifics of my ever dynamic stereo but I do have focal components in the doors a large sub 2 amps and sound deadening in the doors and trunk. But one thing sticks in my craw or face really that I wish I hadn't ripped out with the stock stuff and that is this CENTER CHANNEL that was unhooked when I put all my stuff in but I think sounds tits even when the stock was assaulting my ears in a brand new vehicle. Is it wrong to buy a car because it has a center channel again LONG OVERDUE to the mostly HIFI(less) mobile audio crowd. simply put there are more knobs in the world of stereo install than the one flying solo to your subwoofer . Many, many more . So I'd like to bypass the usual knobs and ask, can I do something with this center channel like replace it with something better or hook it up to my amps and make this purr on the data link maestro to the Rockford perfect tune or do I need to upgrade to an audison, Alpine or even focal type dsp? Or better put HELP?! SORRY this is so long....

You are 100% "incorrect" about being stuck with the factory amp and it not working with the DSP`s that I mentioned. I`d suggest you take the time and do some research before making a statement like this. The PAC AmpPro bypasses the factory amp and gives low level outputs just like the DSR1 plus it gives you the option of going optical out which is what I said in my initial reply, and all of the DSP`s that I mentioned will accept an optical input. INPUT being the key word. Lol..........You`re using Astell & Kern as a source and want to use it with a 249.00 DSP such as a DSR1? You personally don`t think my suggestion would sound as good and at the same time you want to hold off until the Maestro piece is compatible? Stop while you`re ahead because what you said makes no sense.

You are correct but I said optical output. Currently there are no aftermarket or OEM head units that have an optical output to use the SPDIF input on the DSR1. Using the DSR1 means one is stuck using the DSP in the DSR1 whereas if one wants to use the optical or low level output of the PAC unit, he or she will be able to use a much better not to mention any external DSP including the RF 360.3 which is better than the RF DSR1 but i`d never use the 360.3 The DSR1 has it`s place in the market. It makes for an easy solution to upgrade the factory stereo and the setup plus the simple DSP is more than enough for the majority pf people. However, a person with a high end system that`s fully active and at the same time wants or has to keep their factory head unit, will not look at the DSR1 as an option. They will either use the Pac Amp Pro with it`s optical output to a DSP that has an optical input or the will use a DSP that accepts high level inputs that does summing such as the DM 610 & 810, Bit One, JL TwK, Mosconi 6to8 & 8to12, RF 360.3, etc, etc.

You CAN'T use a Windows based computer to control it, that's absolutely false. You CAN flash firmware. All of the tuning is only functional through an Android 6.0+ or iOS10+ application called Rockford Fosgate Perfect Tune on a supported tablet with bluetooth.
