Ulf made this beautiful bamboo rod for Anders and it seems that it works perfectly. Head over to www.bamboorods.se/ if you like to find out more about the rod maker.

There are many anglers who are obsessed with their gear. And many of them end up liking the tools more than the fishing itself. But in this video, I can feel the pride of a person who loves not only fishing but also the river itself and the time spent in nature before that. That's what tools are for, right? Thanks for the great video. From a tenkara guy in Japan.

Is there really anything wrong with that? Building rods and nerding out over gear are just as much a hobby to me as fishing
@gingerman-nq1vt2 жыл бұрын
@@badman5007 I have no intention of ridiculing someone's fishing style. I also know that tools bring more interest and joy to the world. But I arrived at "Tenkara", which was stripped of it as much as possible. That's it. May each other continue to have wonderful fishing days.

50 years ago my first job was to work for a fishing shop. One of the many skills that I was taught was to make cane fly rods. Not from scratch like this video but using cane supplied to the shop I and my colleagues made some beautiful rods. Thanks for the memories. I still use one of those rods along with new carbon rods. Cheers from lockdown and waiting for the season to commence again.

An old Navy tug master used to make the most sought after flies in New England. It was a hobby for him. They were by no means cheap to buy but it took him a long time to make. I can not imagine how much time it took to make that rod but it sure looks special. Thanks for sharing.

Not interested in bamboo rods,but your film made me watch it and reflect about the proud craftmanship, regarding construction and building of the bamboo rod.
