JR has been awful, hoping for them (and my pool) he picks it up after the break, Johnston shooting a tonne but at under 5%, that has to change, hintz has picked it up for sure. I think they just have too many guys that are the same dude and it's rare they have a game where someone gets over 20 min, it helps keep everybody fresh but sometimes you gotta pick some horses. Dadonov should never be SC1 over Johnston, that is on Deboer. They need a consistent dman that can put up pts, thought that would be harley this year but no, not so far. If JR and WJ can even be a ppger moving forward, they will roll whoever they play.

He's left handed and can play center. Two things in his favor. He's been a great addition and glad he resigned for this season. Hope to keep him next season too. That Mush, Seggy, Dutch line is near unstoppable

Stars best line by far was the Seguin, Duchene, Marchment line and since Seguin's injury the team has just not played well. Wyatt isnt as comfortable on the wing on the line with Robo and Hintz and PDB is trying to put many different players (Stankoven, Johnston, Dadonov, Bourque recently) there so that line can finally get going on the level they had with Pavs but nothing is working atm. Bourque has probably been the best fit. Stars and Nill are 100% going to be a big time buyers at the trade deadline tho because Seguin on LTIR will free up a LOT of money. No idea who or what they trade and trade for but I expect Nill to make major moves unless the next 3 months or so go so badly that they arent even in the playoff hunt which would be a colapse of epic proportions

Even before the injury Dallas was playing inconsistent. The Seggy, Mush and Dutch line is one of the best in the NHL. The injury definitely hurts us but we've been inconsistent all season. Robertson and Johnston are yet to really get going. Harley and Miro aren't really scoring. Stankhoven has finally his rookie wall. Really hoping the break helps refocus. Nill has money to play with. Question is where do you add? Or do you stand pat?

Pavelski was a liability in the playoffs last year and it was his time, but I never saw anyone talk about how Wyatt's entire training regimen and nutrition plan and sleep schedule were all Pavelski's. This is Wyatt's first year as an actual independent player having to manage things Joe and Sarah did for him before. It made my jaw drop seeing people think he'd break 70 points this year.

Pavelski's retirement has really hurt the Stars and their power play. Without him -both of his linemates have had their production drop off and the Power play has become a joke. I wish that he could come back as an assistant coach and continue mentoring these guys.

I just hope Dumba gets sent down once he's healthy. The experiment has already failed, he's just a liability. Dallas needs to shore up the blue line and maybe trade for a center to replace Seguin. The only Center that I think could fill that role is Stamkos but idk if he wants to leave NSH, if Dallas would want to take on that contract, or if NSH would want to give him up just to get pieces for the rebuild.

Merry Christmas mate. Before the season began Dallas was the favorite to win the Cup for most of the "experts" Everytime they lose many of their fans say "IF only we had Pavelski" but they never say that after a win. Don't blame the retired guy after a loss. It's on the guys who suited up to win. All you have to do is get into the playoffs and you've got just as much chance as any other team who made it to win the Cup. I begin to have doubts Dallas will make the playoffs. Theyve been known to lose 12 of their last 17 games and miss the playoffs where two of those losses being wins would've seen them in the post-season. They need to fire their power play coach but it's not going to happen because Pete DeBoer loves him. Bourque needs to play with offensively gifted players, like Robertson needed to.. Neither one of them are fit to be a mindless 4th line grinder. When they're hot theyre one of the best teams in the league, but when they're not, they really suck. They can play up for good teams and then get smoked by bottom feeders, like they dont even need to try because its a bottom feeder, but the bottom feeder brings their A game because they're playing a "contender." Its frustrating.

The power play is absolutely killing them. It's a liability more often than not. When Utah took the first penalty the other day, my initial reaction was "Oh dear God no". Steve Spott has had a bottom tier power play since he started in the NHL, but he's DeBoer's best friend, so unfortunately he likely won't be going anywhere. Anyone else would have been fired instantly after that -1/7 debacle against the Rangers

Crazy how inconsistent they have been playing and yet they are still in a playoff spot at this moment. This upcoming stretch of games are going to be very crucial for the Stars. They must get at least 8 of a possible 10 points in those 5 games to get back into the category of a potential contender. All it takes is for their star players like Robertson and Johnston to get their names into the goals column more consistently the rest of the season which should help the rest of the team with improving their team scoring. Go Stars!!

I've been a Stars fan since 1993. This has truly been one of the most frustrating seasons that any fan has had to watch. The inconsistency and lack of leadership is glaring. They get outworked by most teams and if it wasn't for Otter & DeSmith, their record would be mediocre at best. Until an actual leader steps up and starts flipping tables, this team is going nowhere fast!!

Dallas fan here. The problem for me is what team shows up from game to game. They win against Winnipeg and Tampa but lose to Anaheim and Chicago. They got to get their powerplay going. Where is Robo and Johnston?

As a Stars fan they really really have been on a downturn since Seguin went down for the year. Nill needs to put him on LTIR and use the cap money to bring in some help. Also wasnt crazy with what they did in the offseason, lost their whole 4th line pretty much and Tanev and made questionable additions to replace them

Coaching is a huge problem like most have mentioned. But the team also doesn't have a real top line atm. Not with those numbers. If a 40 year old was the lynchpin for them, then that's a big problem.

The Stars are a head case this season. I will make a prediction here with the Stars; they make the playoffs but get eliminated in the first round 4-1. This team is one of the worst wastes of talent I have seen in quite some time. How they can look so anemic with the offensive talent that they have is surely puzzling, but when you are 25th on the power play and have given up more short handed goals than you have scored that tells me much of what is wrong with them. I thought that Peter DeBoar was brought in to improve the offense but they are worse now than before he was hired. No team is worried about facing the Stars right now. I know losing Joe Pavelski hurt them, but it should not have been to the point that the offense just dies.

Just my armchair opinion, while the powerplay is certainly a big issue, the underlying issue is this team has no grit. Look at tampa, avs, vegas, panthers, those teams all had that "we will not be denied" attitude when they won and I just havent seen that with dallas

I’ve been saying this all yr, they’re soft. Robertson’s a 6’3” finesse player that may be washed, Get in Roope’s grill and he’ll go away quietly. Mav and Stank are still kids.
