No Rosemary... Jones had very little to do with the Stones sound. He wanted a pure blues band. The Rolling Stones were not a blues band.

@@williardbillmore5713 Actually they were in the beginning, when he founded them. And they reverted back to the blues after he died. Most of Exile is blues. Also he had a lot to do with the sound in the beginning. Most of the memorable hooks on Aftermath are his unique instrument choices. Between the Buttons has Ruby Tuesday which has his recorder playing on it. One could argue its these unique sounds and melodies that give the songs their memorable qualities just as much as the lyrics.

@@RRL110 Brian did not found the Rolling Stones . Mick keith and Dick taylor did. Brian joined Keith's band seven months after they were founded The memorable qualities the Stones songs had were their melodies. Jones only copied their melodies. He did not write them.

I read where someone once said something akin to, "If your name is remembered into history, you're never really dead." The famous and otherwise in their short time amongst us who left their words, music, voice and deeds to and for us truly are immortal. Brian will live within my personal, and perhaps your, memory for our lifetimes. Brian, RIP.

Thank you for this memorial video. I regard Brian as the greatest because he was the reason for the Stones. I had the thrill of seeing the Stones including Brian on their tour of NZ in 1964 or 1965. They have been out here many times since but I didn't go because they were not the same without Brian. Before I went on a brief holiday to England I researched all the places that you visited but unfortunately the holiday was too short and I didn't get to visit any of them. You covered all the places I wanted to see, so thank you for this wonderful video. Kevin, New Zealand

Spot on. I've yet to see a gravestone with the icy words "In Affectionate Remembrance...." Apparently, Bob Dylan paid for the casket and the funeral expenses. That says it all.
@daveglover6115
@daveglover6115 7 жыл бұрын
I doubt Bob Dylan paid for anything. The casket was imported from the USA by the RS and the funeral fees would have come from BJ's estate, like any other burial practice in the UK. Tombstone engraved words normally come from the next of kin ie in this case his parents. He is now at rest, surrounded by others, also Affectionately Remembered...

I don't know I have heard Mick speak at least somewhat decently about Brian. When I read Keith's book Life I thought that he treated Brian's memory pretty shabbily. I don't really remember Keith giving Brian credit for starting the band only saying that Brian put an add in the paper and that Stu was the first to answer the add and that for Keith he will always think of the band as Stu's band. If there was more mention about Brian starting the band I don't recall having read that in Life.

It would be so mind-blowing to me if I were to find out that I would be buried next to Brian Jones for ALL eternity. Truly. Who was the lucky one who got that spot.

Ruby Tuesday is a good fitting tune to remember Brian by. I don’t think the bust at the church looks anything like him. So much musical talent Mr Jones had. Whatever happened in 69 with him still remains somewhat of a mystery but hopefully he is in peace now. Maybe he’s talked to Beethoven or John Lennon. He was the Stones to me. Through the years The Rolling Stones we’re always missing the piece of the puzzle that would make them more than they already were. Brian , I wish things would have transpired differently. RIP
