This song is so well written. Never heard it before. Also love Mick's voice here--he says it like it is!! She did get away with murder. Even if it was an accident (very unlikely) any responsible adult should know better than to point a gun at anyone. Even when you're "being shown how to clean it" like she claimed. That's the first thing my father taught me about gun safety.

My parents used to talk about this when I was a little girl. found this looking up Claudine on wiki---was remembering the SNL skit from 1976 they did about her, showing downhill skiers that fall and adding a gunshot sound at the fall. hysterically funny. wiki says it was called the "Claudine Longet Invitational Ski Championship" I remembered it as the "Spider Sabich Ski Shoot" my memory is odd that way.

Nah. Likely Jagger was friends with Spider Sabich, her victim. Jagger was also known for dumping woman he was involved with when it was time to move on to someone younger and prettier. So he definitely had a vested interest in such exes not getting away with gunning you down for it. What if Bianca or Jerry had taken umbrage in him leaving them and pumped *him* full of lead and gotten away with it? Can't have that. ;-)
